Commissioned best move ever would be to get this guy and take him on tour with them. This cat is amazing, so the truth it is amazing just sitting and listening to him recreate in the same aspect their music as was then. He is simply great. He makes their songs come alive again.

The only people in the world that I know who like Commissioned as much as I do are my wife and my in laws. I didn't hear them on the radio a lot, they didn't win a lot of awards, I never heard people talk about them or sing any of their songs but they are TO ME hands down the best group ever PERIOD.

My Brother, never has there a more fitting tribute to this timeless group, my love of Commissioned is personal, I got saved in 1986, at a very turbulent time in my life, my world was turned upside down due to a imploding marital situation. I was listening to Michael Matthews radio show one Sunday morning at work and heard this group whose music and ministry spoke to the core of my issues, i immediately became a devoted follower because every song spoke healing to everything I was going thru. I love traditional gospel, but when I was"in the world" I played bass and also loved upbeat contemporary bass lines and hearing Fred play like he played to the message of their music won me forever, being a Detroit native as well sealed the deal for me. i often rode the Woodward bus to work with earphones on plugged into a WALKMAN cassette playing any or all of the songs you just honored. My greatest moment was being at Wonderland Music across from Northland Mall with a friend, when the entire group walked in and I found out my friend grew up with the entire group, needless my jaw was on the floor , but my spirit soared, this will always be the greatest gospel group ever put together, hands down.
