Pandharpur Wari is an annual pilgrimage in Maharashtra, India, dedicated to the Hindu deity Vitthal, also known as Vithoba or Panduranga. It is one of the most significant religious events in the state and attracts millions of devotees from various parts of Maharashtra and beyond.
Dive Ghat, well-known route for the pilgrims participating in the Pandharpur Wari. The pilgrimage typically takes place in the months of June and July, spanning a period of around 21 days. During this time, devotees undertake a journey on foot from various starting points across Maharashtra to reach the town of Pandharpur, where the Vithoba temple is located.
As the pilgrims make their way through Dive Ghat, they often chant devotional songs, hymns, and slogans praising Lord Vitthal. Many devotees carry palkhis (palanquins) adorned with the images of various saints and deities associated with Varkari tradition. The rhythmic sounds of bells, cymbals, and drums fill the air, creating an atmosphere of devotion and spirituality.
