Lol… I’m a Registered Nurse in Florida but I have an irrational addiction to the older bmw stuff. Currently have 4 of them. - 2000 m5 ( just finished a total engine rebuild) a 1991 850/6 and 2 early e39 540s. Ones a 97 6 speed which is my daily driver and the other early 98 automatic is a parts car (paid 600 for a complete running rust free and original car )it has the same m62b44 non vanos engine. It’s a shame to strip it but shares tons of parts with my fleet. I like the older manual versions. Just need one more model… an inline 6 manual of some kind. They are very rewarding to drive when running as intended

@@synthwavegarage Had a tobagoblue 1993 850ci with 18" BBS rims 20 years ago. Those wheels made it look even greater! Miss it... 🥰

I have an 1991 850i 6speed that I’m just beginning to get running again. Just came across your channel and really enjoying your video series on the same exact car .Excellent work and attention to detail. Pretty low mileage for its age too. All your content is recorded in high quality and will make it much easier for me to get an idea of what I’m dealing with. Thanks for sharing this. Keep them coming 👍

An 850i with 6 speed, oh man it will be fun to drive that car. Good luck with the restoration! I'm glad you like the content. This is the goal if someone can use it for their own project, but I have to say that I'm not a car mechanic, I'm actually a wedding photographer :) I learned a lot during the restoration. I will have time to work on the car again in the fall. There is still plenty of work to do with it. So stay tuned ;)

I am just glad it cleared the blue smoke for you and that a valve job was not necessary. What I have learned from my 91 refresh is the rubber parts in the engine bay are just too old to be reliable and replacement is necessary. Thanks for posting the video of your great work.👍

After all of that great work and this is how the bimmer repays you? That's unfortunate but I'm glad it runs great now! Sadly, the camshaft didn't look that great. It is so cool to see the project finally coming together.

Did you put some Anti Seize on the fan threads? Easy way to get valve stem seals off is heat them with a torch for 5 seconds. Looks like you might have a rear end rebuild in the future. Good Luck
