What product are you using to bring the plastics back to a new look? Looks like you are applying with a sponge. Thanks!

Last question for you. Which workshop manual do you refer to in order to find torque specs on all the engine bolts?

Nice video, am gonna have to take mine apart again as the o ring on the cone is leaking, i used a 38x 3mm and an going to investigate, i think a 38 x 3.5mm will fix it, its return pressure here and for now there is only atmospheric ye the build oil has dripped out the drain, Edit: removed it and found it was a 38x 2.5mm! Thats why it leaked no doubt.

That's how the M70/M73 is designed. Very little spacing between each cylinder.

Hi Stefa, nice to see your careful work. There is an incredible amount to clean. I used mine to clean each screw hole with a threaded pin. It is worth buying a fairly large ultrasonic cleaner to clean parts such as pistons and oil pumps, they will be like new. I changed the timing chain to mine for no reason, there was no stretching whatsoever. You can change the m73 distributor head tension rail to this engine so that the bearing won't start to sound in the future. Good luck with this project, I hope you find the necessary parts and the bearings are in such condition that they don't need to be replaced. While waiting for the next episode, greetings Jukka

@@synthwavegarage As gaskets, I used the original ones, as well as Victor Reinz and Elring. I also ordered the Ajusa sets, I used the gaskets of the distributor head housings, the original ones were not available. I bought a lot of parts from hubauer. I changed the 6mm 8.8 bolts to better 10.9 bolts. Fortunately, I didn't have to change the bearings, I measured them all, they were within specifications, there were no signs of wear or scratches, I renewed the bolts. The oil control rings of the M73 engine are different, the piston holes for the oil control rings are also different, I am not aware of any oil intake problems. Aeromotors has m70 Goetze piston rings, elring cylinder head bolts and Victor Reinz head gaskets, camshaft and crankshaft gaskets at reasonable prices. You can also find Ajusa at Aeromotorss. Yes, you can find parts for these if you can search and take the time.
