So helpfull. Everyone else just says take this and that out. Put it back in like it was. They don't tell what the parts are or how they go in.

Assemble on a magnet. Once the box is all together and some screws are in to keep it from flying apart you can crack it open and reach in with dental tools and reseat the ARL. You can also reallign the trigger too and push the gears around some.
@DannyGruesome6 жыл бұрын
If your trigger fell apart like mine did theres supposed to be a screw holding it to the gearbox housing that most manufacturers miss
@BazingaIII8 ай бұрын
Or like me, you have an AUG, so the whole thing just pops apart when you remove the top half of the case. I had a lot of... fun... putting it back together after regreasing things.

Best to use a strong neodymium magnet on the outter shell to hold down all the gears/AR latch

Great video, best ive seen for taking apart the mechbox. A question if I may. I have an ICS SIG 551, which as you may know uses a modified V3 mechbox. The gun is completely stock and has only been skirmished once. After each shot, there is a metallic clunk. I have attempted to research this with little results, however from what I did find, it's to do with the bevel gear and the ARL. From watching other videos of ICS SIG's, its not a common issue. Have you any idea's for a fix?

once you remove the top plate use a vise grip or a clamp to hold the trigger in place coz that part is a pain to install

If the piston head isnt coming loose and you want to get the spring out without cutting the piston, you can pull the old spring out by force, ruining the spring but leaving the piston intact :D at least worked for me

Just one question.. what's the correct position of the antireversal and the sector gear before closing the gearbox? Thanks so much!!!
@Clayful100012 жыл бұрын
On the trigger, where does that small curly spring go and what is it's orientation? its the spring that gives resistance to the trigger.

Does anyone know if this works with LCT aks like the LCT AK74M? Oh. And this is so much easier than what I thought. Do I have to mess around with the gears if I’m JUST replacing the spring? Because I’d be doing this on a brand new gun.

when upgrading any AEG can I ONLY upgrade the spring? or will it put to much force on all the other parts?

14:20. Did exactly that and the nozzle broke off and flew across the room. Why is that? Can that happen if the spring is too strong? I put m110 SHS spring in there, but could have sent me the wrong one or something, or I could have installed the nozzle wrong?
@Pigmy72 жыл бұрын
Did you release the tension on the spring?

I put the anti-reversal latch in correctly but it seems to be jamming the gears when i go to test it, the gears move without it in in the right direction. I just can't seem to figure it out...

Do you need thread lock to put your new spring in? Please answer I really don't want to break my gun Thanks

Could you please tell me, why it is important to align the sector gear using the tapet plate notch on the gear as a reference point? So you can install the piston in freely afterwards? Or does it have more meaning to it? Cheers bro, nice video!

Could you please make a video showing how to change the spring on a umarex g36cv that would be amazing I don't want to damage the gearbox
@sosoishero12 жыл бұрын
I think setting the timing of the gears are not needed, as the everything should be auto aligned with one cycle of action of the gearbox.

how do you get the ant-reversal latch to not pop out during installation please respond and thank you

What is a good spring to upgrade with this gearbox? I have an ASG steyr aug and it shoots around 330 fps, just want to bump up around 400
@xpgek9 жыл бұрын
spring M120 shoot's 405
@nithia8 жыл бұрын
+David Haas I need to do the reverse. My AK shoots about 400 and I need to get it under 350. I put an M90 in my M4 and it shoots 320 now. I might try an M95 or M100 and see what I get. Or I might just polar star it as I really want to be able to change my FPS based on where I play and what role I am playing. CQB, Riflemen, DMR, and so on. I may also just get a quick change gear box.
@effenrad18 жыл бұрын
is it possible to just change the spring without messing with the gears?
@EDSKaR8 жыл бұрын
As they are seperate components, yes you can, but the concern is that if you put in a higher rated spring you can damage some stock parts, particularly plastic bushings or pistons. So depending on what you are after, you may need to upgrade other parts to match the power you want.
@xWink8 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't need to touch anything but the spring and spring guide when changing a spring. Most of this video is not a spring change, just general gearbox maintenance.

What the hell is the mm of the bushing. I've been trying to find out for my cyma ak. I can't find it out anywhere. I lost one of mine when trying to put In a new springs and it shot all the gears and stuff around my room. I just couldn't find that one dumb bushing. It was so annoying and I've been trying to fix my ak47 that I've have dumbed so much money on for the last 6 months

Kree Christopher, thanks for the reply, I actually found out the mm about 3 days ago though. it's a 7mm. Unfortunately my gun still doesn't fire correctly. But thanks again for responding, I was searching for about a week till I got it

My bad I meant to correct that actually, my ver 3 lonex box uses 8 mm, sorry I was wrong about that I figured they would be the same
