We have one of these little Perkins engines that came out of my dad's old 1967 Commer 2200 van [ ODT 756E ]. It still is sounding fit, even at nearly 60 years old. Starts first time too. We were going to stick a genny behind it, but the cost of swapping the hydraulic governed injector pump for a mechanical one was going to be prohibitive. Still fire it up once in a while though!

If it were me, I’d put a tachometer in that last spot; if not I’d put either a oil temperature gauge or an exhaust pyrometer.
