The TL;DW (too long, didn't watch) version of my entire e-bike V9.0 build in 20 minutes! This is 4 months of work squeezed into one video.
If you want to see the entire build series where I explain and go over everything, please watch it here: • 🚲 Custom 18KW [60MPH] ...
Ok so this is my 2nd ebike that I put away for a few years because I used some of the parts to make my 3rd ebike which you guys can check out here: • 🚲 Custom 5000W Digi-Ca...
This is it guys, the moment I have been waiting for - the finale!
It was a long journey, and thanks so much for following along with me.
This this is an absolute beast of a bike, the acceleration is such an amazing rush, it's exhilarating - completely! This amount of power is absolutely overkill but it is oh so fun. I did do some speed runs and hit 60MPH, which I was a bit surprised because with this power it should go a bit faster, but I don't think it's the power that is limiting it, I did try to troubleshoot things that could be affecting the top end, but couldn't come up with anything so far. It's still way too fast and extremely dangerous to go this fast, but for science I do want to maybe see if I can push it a bit more.
I couldn't be happier with how this came out, the power, the speed, the aesthetics, the battery size - I didn't even go over the range in the video, it should go easily 60 miles, probably more!
Thank you guys for watching, I have more projects coming up - stay tuned!!

This has been a long time in the making, I've been wanting to remake this build for about 3 years now and it was always my plan to replace the older smaller battery with one that could do the motor justice.
1. The Frame
This is an older frame from China that was very cheap - it's burly, heavy and should hold up to the power that I'm putting through it. The swingarm on this one is super beefy compared to the EEB version, but the trade off is that it is a lot heavier.
2. The Battery
Custom made GTK pack, 70Ah, 72V, 200A BMS. It has two 150A Anderson plugs with 2 8G wires per pole!
3. The Controller
Not shown yet, but it's a Sabvoton SVMC72200 200A controller, it's fully programmable with regen braking.
4. The Motor
It's a QS273 V3 - T3.5 motor from QS. Rated for 8000W but you can push these much higher as they are huge and heavy and can handle a ton of power, a lot more than the QS205s but there is a weight penalty.

Wow. I'm beyond impressed. Your drive to create is contagious. I especially liked your honesty about welding. I want so bad to learn how to weld and your videos inspire me to take on the challenge. How did you add the graphics to the plastic? Was it out sourced or in house ? It's amazing. I just ordered two frames and I'm inspired by what you have done. I will never be able to do what you've done here but I'm creeping up on retirement age and I want live out my retirement years building, designing and customizing e-bikes. Your work is genius . You're an inspiration that keeps me hopeful . One bike at a time.

Thanks so much Jim, it means a lot 🙏 You should 100% do that and give welding a try, it's simple and easy to understand what to do, just very hard to master - as with everything, it just takes time and repetition to get better. I have access to a CO2 laser for all my acrylic cutting and engraving, so I do them myself, all graphics are made by me. You can have this outsourced though if you don't have the tools 👍 That's really why I made this channel, to hopefully inspire other people to build the things they want to see come into the world, so thank you for letting me know! I hope you share your creations to inspire others too. There aren't many things more fulfilling than creating something that was just an idea in your head and seeing it take form over time. I wish you the best of luck on your journey, it's not always the most fun or easiest thing to do at times - especially learning new skills but I will say that if you stay dedicated and just take breaks when you're frustrated but then come back at it when you're ready, the effort and persistence you invest will always reward you 🍻 Thanks so much man!

By far the best ebike builder on youtube, i would love to own one of your masterpieces one day. I wonder how hard it would be to make the pedals only purpose to charge the bike, not for movement, like if your chillin on a break you can keep pedaling and recharge your battery, if the rear wheel still needs to rotate maybe a kickstand that lifts the rear end like on an old gs500 would suffice? your an inspiration for sure, thanks for existing and stay amazing :D

Thanks so much man! I actually have to sell this bike sometime soon as I have more projects to make and I haven't been riding it as much as I should. I usually do sell my creations as I can't keep them all, so maybe in the future it will be the right build at the right time for you. It is possible to make a pedal generator, but aside from a novelty I'm not sure it's practical to implement from a functional standpoint, definitely possible though. Thanks so much man, I have way crazier builds on the way too 🍻

Thank you for following the build! It's a DNM USD-8 👍 It's a very stiff fork, which is great if you're going for that. I prefer more squish though, the RST Killah fork that I tried is more my style, if I keep this bike I will swap it eventually.

Just wondering why you didn't use an ASI Bac 8000 controller? It has way more goodies than the old Sabvoton!
@hightech-lowlife
@hightech-lowlife Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah? What kind of goodies are you talking about? Even the 4000 would be overkill as my battery "only" outputs 200A so I'm not sure the goodies you're speaking of would justify the additional cost - the 8000 is about twice the cost of the 72200. But if you know something I don't, I'm all ears. The thing I don't like about most of the higher output controllers (bac, kelly, etc) is lack of metering and display options. I may do another revision of this bike in the future with an 1800A controller, but I need to find a battery setup that can output a ton. Although it's admittedly quite pointless as this bike is way overpowered as is, but then again I'm not really doing any of these things for practical purposes 👍

I have the same motor on my Bomber that I got my in KIT but it's a QS Motor V3 of 8 Kw nominal and 12 Kw peak and it's a treat, but at the moment I have a problem of leak at the valve of my air chambers, which are 4.5 mm thick, although they are puncture-proof, and the original air chamber, much thinner, which is about 1.2 mm thick, the valve had broken. completely torn off and I don't see where the problem comes from. My motor is also wound in 3.5 T and before setting certain parameters in the MQCON application of the Sabvoton controller which is a nominal 150 A and my battery a 53 Ah with a bms of 100 A in discharge and 50 A in charge, I was doing top speeds between 92 and 96 km/h and sometimes 98 km/h depending on the weather conditions. and I have correctly adjusted the regeneration on braking and when the throttle grip is released, which means that I gain between 10 and 15 km of autonomy and that I save my brakes, because I have a lot of engine braking and even in descents of more than 8% I don't need to brake, after a while I even have to accelerate again to regain speed, and then I had a hole in the acceleration 2 seconds or so where my Bomber was accelerating reasonably and then it would shoot off, but since I changed those settings I don't have that 2 second latency anymore and it accelerates almost instantly and I can get it up at top speed between 98 and 108 km/h GPS therefore real speed and not on the LCD Display and the manufacturer is given for 110 km/h, knowing that my Bomber with its new Bridgestone rear tire and this large anti- puncture weighs 82.5 kg and I weigh 77 kg, but you can go faster with these engines, because they accept a maximum voltage of 96 Volts, moreover when I drive fast for a long time and in the middle of a heat wave with 30 to 36 degrees outside, I measured the temperature of the engine with a laser thermometer and the temperature was always below 50 degrees, while it can withstand more than 100 degrees without problem, which proves that this motor can give more and therefore run faster with a higher voltage and I had known that before, I would have tried to find a 96 Volt controller and have my battery manufactured in nominal 84 Volts instead of 72 Volts and I'm sure it could go up to at least 125 km/h or even 130. Here is the latest video uploaded of my Bomber, and I speak at the beginning of my double braking at the front, which I had a lot of trouble getting, but now it brakes really well, it's hydraulic Tektro 4 plungers: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbBpjZiYuZ3PdIk.html
@hightech-lowlife
@hightech-lowlife Жыл бұрын
That's awesome man, sounds like an incredible bike I will check out the video! I hope you get your tire valve situation sorted very soon. I also use regen and it's great! The QS273 can handle so much more power, it doesn't even get warm when I run it. I think you're right, upping the voltage is the way to go if you want to go even faster, I probably will do this in the future to this bike just to try it. I also want to add double discs up front too! Thank you!!
@pat_0248
@pat_0248 Жыл бұрын
@@hightech-lowlife I struggled for several months to have this double braking, because normally a double disc and fat bike brake caliper additionally controlled by a single lever, that does not exist, but only for large thermal motorcycles, as I have in the past, but I had seen it on 2 or 3 videos on KZfaq of guys who had also built their Bomber themselves, and it was Tektro but 2 pistons but on the other hand bigger than the 4 pistons of the Tektro that I have on my Bomber and on my Fat bike. In addition, before I finally found this custom-made double brake on Alibaba, I had to ask for a 2nd caliper adapter which is specific to my DNM pneumatic fork which is a treat and which allows you to have a double caliper, only he had put with the fork, a single adapter, and as despite my numerous and long searches as well to find this 2nd adapter and a double braking system but for fat bikes, I ended up claiming it directly on the DNM site, they sent it to me, but it took a long time and they made me pay a lot of money for it, but hey, when you're passionate, you don't look too much at the price, I've already spent a lot of money in the past with my big cars. I'll give you the link from Alibaba and the manufacturer and builder of this dual braking system with the new Tektro 4-piston calipers, which I'm really satisfied with, once the brake pads have been run in. they advised me and put red pads on these 2 calipers, which they say are the best and it's really that they brake much better than the yellow ones. For the higher voltage, I do not know if they make Sabvoton controllers of the same model as mine but in 84 Volts nominal, but anyway, my battery cost me 2600 euros because made to measure by a French specialist of the battery, and I don't intend to make another one but with a higher nominal voltage, it is really of very good quality and the bms too, because by connecting the battery, I had several big short circuits and the last lasted a very long time and the big cables coming out of the bms started to heat up a lot and I really thought that my battery was dead, and that it might catch fire and then explode in my house, but no, not even, it holds a charge well, charges very well and quickly with a great adjustable charger that I found on AliEpress which is really of great quality, it does not heat up too much even while driving at full power, quite a bit of time and with an ambient temperature raised you as we have for several weeks in France...

@@kiiingrook8592 It depends on how you look at it, our success is purely derived from comparison, the larger the failure conversely the larger the success (or feeling of at least). I think the frustrations and problems deliver a greater sense of satisfaction in the end, which if you're making your own things is the true benefit. If we wanted everything so easy we would just buy a premade bike with zero effort. Plus each project is more opportunities to refine your own skills and work on yourself internally - everyone thinks they are building an external object but we're really just building ourselves. As long as you do not give up you are guaranteed to succeed 👍

@@hightech-lowlife I've been through a few with with my current ebike, at the end of completion is like the best feelings, which makes one ready for a nother challenge, although we may not know what we're doing or getting into but the confidence is special #ebikelife 💪 my guy 💯🔥

I think it’s cool but something about it for me has that really gotty feel to it, I think maybe without the led lights and whatnot it would’ve been a great build but it personal feels too much to me. (This is just personal preference though, the artistry on this bike is definitely the best I’ve seen on KZfaq)

Thanks so much man! I get it, this is definitely an "over-the-top" build 🍻 The world has gone minimal aesthetically and while I do appreciate that and think it's cool, I like to change it up a bit. I appreciate your feedback and comment, thanks for watching!

Перед для России 😁👇 Это самый крутой электровелосипед в мире 🤠👍🤝 Но больше не садись за руль без шлема, маска не спасет тебя от смерти. Каков запас хода в км при скорости 100-110 км/ч? This is the coolest electric bike in the world 🤠👍🤝 But don't drive without a helmet anymore, the mask won't save you from death. What is the power reserve in km at a speed of 100-110 km/h?

Привет друг, спасибо за добрые слова! Thank you so much 🍻🍻 Yes, but also nothing will save us from death, only temporary prolonging of the inevitable 👍💀🛸 I will have to check, it's hard to check my display when trying not to die going that fast, but I will update you guys 🎇 Thank you!
