What's the asset requirements on VA form 21P-527EZ for SMC? I have read $127k, but form indicates $25k. Also land in addition to 2 acres implies...?

I think that you are confusing SMC A&A with Pension A&A.

A warning! I was going through VA rehab, was on the pension for 5 years, getting therapy for much of that time, got right, started Social Security Retirement. It took 3 months for a response from the VA to cut back my pension because of SS, so I had a debt. OK, I'll pay it back...no problem at all. Then I was well enough to go back to work, got a job, tried about 30 calls over a few months to stop the pension, half a dozen different forms sent to me with different instructions, finally got someone that just stopped the payments right over the phone. Great? Nope. after all the effort to do the right thing, I somehow missed a letter that asked for my start and end dates of employment and wage. The V. fkn A. determined that they should set my pension amount to zero and dated it back to 2015. What does that mean? I have a $78,000.00 fucking debt. They can, and actually do that to us. It's on its way to treasury for collection, my retirement is shot, my future is ruined and the entire fucking VA can go fuck itself. There's your VA benefit for elderly vets.

BTW, the VA has all the information about my employment at the click of a mouse, when asking for a reconsider, they ask what agencies I want them to look at, such as Dept of labor, the IRS, SS Admin....it says right on their letter that the determination was because I didn't provide the info at their schedule.

You can apply for a waiver to debt collections. There's no attorneys that will help because There's no money in it for them. However, you can reach out to Volunteers of America that's capable of helping.
