Sri Sunny Kappikad has narrated several events/statements some of which he claims to be a part of recorded history. He adds that there was an assumption that some of the categories of the people who belong to the so called lower castes were not educated and cultured. He is supposed to clarify whether this statement is based on hearsay or on the basis of recorded statement. Otherwise, that can be a misleading statement as this is a vulnerable subject. As far as what is known, nobody has made such a degrading statement as they were, even at that time, very educated and cultured. Another one is about the dubious integrity of Gandhiji on Vaikom Sathyaagraha being a Sanaathana Hindu. That statement need not be correct because Mahatmaji was invited to Vaikom Sathyaagraha directly as well as through letters by the then leaders of the Sathyaagraha (as per the statement of Sri Kappikad). If those leaders ever felt that Gandhiji lacked integrity on the issue, Mahatmaji would not have been invited for the agitation. This is substantiated by the recorded history (according to Sri Sunny Kappikad) that Gandhiji was invited for the Sathyaagraha by the leader Sri TK Madhavan at Thirunalveli. Sri Kappikad also rightly mention, that certain types of works had been undertaken as clan-works by some particular categories. If so, Sri Kappikad has to admit that at that time, clan-work of the so called upper caste Brahmins was to perform poojas, especially in temples, which incidentally happened to be their means of livelihood and which continue to be so. That being so, we have to admit that the so called upper caste Brahmins had taught the other so called lower caste members (because then they were not permitted to do poojas) how to conduct poojas in temples, as almost all other categories, including the remaining so called upper caste categories, were totally ignorant about temple poojaas. My intention is not to question anybody, but only expressed some doubts which may not please be misunderstood.
