Valerie Harper’s husband has revealed the end is near for the beloved actress. In an emotional Facebook post, Tony Cacciotti, Harper's longtime husband, wrote that doctors said his wife, who is battling cancer, should be placed in hospice care. Yet, he is refusing. In 2013, Harper announced she was suffering from terminal brain cancer and had only three to six months to live. She went on to defy the odds, even competing on the “Dancing With the Stars.” #InsideEdition

@@imperialloyalist4799 praying does do something. I prayed for the last three months for my sister's health to return to her. When she got her "second air"/"second breath" She was very lucid, I thought she was recovering. She mixed no words about what she told me. She told me, she knew I had been praying for her, then she said, your prayers have been answered. I'm getting ready to go home. Stop praying about it. It's done. Within a week she died. A few seconds after she died, I understood what she had told me before. Praying does do something.

I remember when we got the same exact news about my Uncle Matt, he was 36 when he died of brain cancer on the 4th of July, 2016. My family was a wreck, I couldn't stop asking God why He took my Uncle when he was so young, Now I'm studying as hard as I can, so that I can get into university, and become a doctor so I can hopefully give other family's loved ones a chance, so that they don't have to go through what my family went through. A hospice can be comforting and see to a person's physical/medical needs at the end of life; it can also be impersonal, clinical and scary. Even the best hospice. Home death, one with love, and in familiar surroundings - is always best whenever possible. Though I do not know Mr. Caccioti, I totally understand and respect his intention. Valerie has given us incredible laughter and sweetness over the years in her tv/stage/film work: she has been brave, funny, and wonderfully upbeat confronting her illness. This may be her time. However it goes - I am sure her family will keep her comfortable, and let her pass with dignity and caring. Peace.

I totally understand this. My mom has stage 4 brain and lung cancer. She is in a nursing home and has outlived the time the doctors predicted. It's all up to God. Valerie is a huge part of my childhood memories. She was so funny on The Mary Tyler Moore Show! I'll never forget Rhoda Morganstern!

I loved Valerie Harper. She got her start on Mary Tyler Moore but she just like Mary were 100% çomplete . headline stars in their own right. She always seemed so friendly and kind and always nice to her fans. She never forgot her fans. She truly seemed to be a genuine niçe person.

Eventually cancer does let us know what we will have to do. We don't want to let our loved ones go, but when every medical Avenue has been used and exhausted, and nothing works anymore, medications don't work, surgeries to remove the cancer didn't work, it finally comes time to just let go.

Hospice care can be setup for home visits by nurses qualified to make the last days of terminally ill patients more comfortable. I don't understand why her husband would turn down this help.
