Valeton GP-200 firmware 1.4 - New possibilities for your pedalboard

The last firmware and software update (vers. 1.4) released by Valeton gives a lot of new possibilities to the multieffect Valeton GP-200. I tried to implement some of them in my pedalboard for my purposes. In this video, I try to show them.

thank you for your feedback. I did it in a previous video. Here I just showed the new possibilities given by the firmware update. With also a demonstration it would be too long. Thanks for whatching and sharing your opinion :-)

Again you have a great set up and thanks for your help on a few questions. I found my input cable was bad thus causing the hum/ground loop

I have kind of a silly question here. I have the GP-200 Jr, which doesn't have a midi input. I understand that the chipset between all units is the same. Do you have experience or knowledge using the Cuvave chocolate bar sending midi to a computer and then the computer sending those signals via USB to the unit? Thank you very much for your time!

@@ElDami you don't Need the computer. You srnd midi commands directly to the valeton through the USB pen connected to the valeton via printer cable.

@@dansca72 I've just watched your other video, and of course I've subscribed. On your compact rig I can see the USB cable going out of the Valeton but nothing coming out of the MVave. What's missing for me is where are you connecting the GP in order to receive the Midi signaling from the MVave. Thanks so much, man

@@ElDami the Chocolate Is connected via Bluetooth to the USB pen. The USB pen Is connected to the valeton via cable and Is powerd by a phone charger.

Thank you. I think creating a patch Is part of the fun. And you Better understand how the machine works. I usually start from zero and go towards a sound I have in mind. And it's never finished... Always tweaking a Little. But that's part of the game :-)

I absolutely love the Freeze and 'Hammy' bar with the new update. Apparently the drum sync got fixed with the loop pedal also (which was really annoying)

How did you set up the Freeze? I was able to activate it with the expression pedal, but cannot control the volume. I think there is supposed to be a way to activate the freeze with a foot switch while controlling the volume with the expression pedal. I'll happily displace my Electro-Harmonix Superego+ if I get that working as well.

@@carlosdaroza I prefer to activate It with a switch and keep the volume fixed, at about 100% or 90%, no Need to change It with pedal, never tried so far.

May I ask how you replaced the power supply for the GP2000? The power supply for the GP200 is rated for 1 ampere, and I have not found any replacements that exceed 500 mA. Did you gang two 500 mA feeds, and if you did, did you have to insert any diodes to prevent back-current on the feeds in case they are are unbalanced?

I'm using a multiple Power supply. It gives 300mA on every output and everything works flawlessly

@@dansca72 Thanks for the information. I imagine then that the included power supply either was a bit of overkill, or perhaps it only draws that power when it drives all its output connections. I was planning to break out the circuit on a breadboard and measure the actual current draw, but am a little lazy at building a connector to hook it all up.

@@carlosdaroza uh I don't know... I juast have some pedals to connect to a power supply, so I just took a power supply with many aoutputs (I hope) isolated :-)

Wow! un set up favoloso! Ho anche io la GP200 e ti sto seguendo passo passo... sarebbe possibile organizzare una piccola video call con te? Mi piacerebbe capire meglio alcune cose che mi sfuggono... devo preparare il rig per una serie di concerti a livello semi-professionale e mi servirebbero un paio di consigli... Comunque moltissimi complimenti per i video e soprattutto per i contenuti...

Grazie Gianluca. Fa piacere che il lavoro e il tempo speso per migliorare il rig sia apprezzato. Il Gp200 consente molte possibilità. Al momento sono muratissimo e non riesco a fare di più. Mi piacerebbe fare una diretta dove spiego alcune altre cose ma purtroppo non riesco per ora. la cosa migliore è sperimentare e fare tentativi, per verificare i limiti e le possibilità della macchina. Poi vediamo anche coi prossimi aggiornamenti. L'ultimo, appunto, consente molto ;-) ciao!
