Did something similar, 20x20 raised square land mass with a one way entry of a bridge to the other land mass. Had no problems with Troll attack. 😁

Awesome idea. For almost the whole video I was like: dig between the pillars :D until you did. good job love it.

As something to try for next time maybe, I usually like to make 1 pillar, make it go as high as possible and then put stone/marble on that (perfectly/pretty, aka, your first stone placements were a little ugly as you were matching the core-wood frame TBH hehe) till you reach your desired height, and then build the iron beams off that single pillar. Keep building iron beams till you get to where you want your next pillar, build temp core wood down (or if you good just drop straight down) and raise the ground up max and lay the stone/marble. Doing the above I find makes the pillars match up much prettier with the corners, and usually the stone ontop of it. It also works for any shape (not just square), gets you more used to iron strength (aka irons turning red maybe time to make a pillar soon, maybe allowing you to skip a pillar that wasn't actually needed), this method immediately starts building your iron wood frame (no time wasted on a core wood frame at the bottom), and you don't really need to do any ground work at the bottom ;)

How do you acquire that much iron on a vanila server?

Iron just need to touch ground. It a waste to lay iron further down the pillars. And the cage is a waste too. Just put iron every 2. row so the stone just touch the iron one one side.

Easier way to mine out in the water, put your shoulder against the side wall and angle yourself away from your “wall”

this guides over water sucks because next biome it will not be safe
