Valiant Hearts is the story of crossed destinies and a broken love in a world torn apart by this very war. Four unsung heroes will try to rise above the tragedies strewn across Europe and band together with their trusty companion dog, Walt, in search of their loved ones.

It's very rare for a simple trailer to make me cry really hard. This one is one of those. It's not just Walt the dog's inner dialogue, but the fact that the poem talks about all the main characters, their goals, and the underlying subtext that it sounds like they are going to die in the war. Having followed the game and getting to know these characters makes it even more emotional when coming back to this trailer.

I just finished this game tonight, and though I know you developers or Ubisoft may never read this, thank you. From an active service member in the Army, thank you for emphasizing the people who go into the hell of war, rather than the action and excitement of war itself. A dog will wait and maybe die at your grave when no one else will. This trailer got something the game industry forgot a long time ago. vlad the impaler The game as a whole is not a tear jerked per se but very moving, but that ending makes the walking dead ending feel like a crash bandicoot game, specially when you realized is based on a true story

I remember when I first played this game and I found it comical at the beginning as if this was some cheap ww1 game, but things got worse and darker every chapter I played. There were moments that made me scream out for the protagonists to keep going and to not give up, I actually showed sympathy and emotions for a video game like I was there. As I got closer towards my goal this game brought me to so many tears that I literally cried as if I lost someone close in real life even though it's just a story that I wasn't a part of. I couldn't believe I was emotionally crying about a video game, it goes to show that this isn't some random money snatcher, it's a story that shows you the true nature of war and separation from your loved ones who you wish you could still be with. This game is totally worth every damn cent in your wallet to play, don't even think twice about it, just play and witness the story for yourself without the internet being by your side.

Story wise... Toy solderis was a good tower defense game based on ww1.... with some minor experimental vehicles.

WolfEye yeah, whoever played BF1 here, maybe they are crying while looking at this trailer (and the gameplay as well). So dramatic, extraordinary hillarious stories, i'm not haters of Battlefield series or compared BF1 with this game, but this game deserve the best in the Stories. But, once a WW1 Games, always WW1 Games :D

WHAT A GAME. Don't look at video/spoiler or everyrhing else. Just play and enjoy it. It will take ca. 15 hours to finish it. Dont rush to the end: Read every letter, understand them, put yourself in every character and try to act as you've been The character. Remember : you won't regret to have spent these few hours on the game.

Media is always so caught up with the violent video games and how 'evil' they are. They act like they're the only games out there and when games like this come out, they turn a blind eye. I haven't even seen big youtubers play it besides jacksepticeye. It's really disheartening.

This is a game that sheds a lot of light on World War I. Ubisoft, I commend you for putting forth a game that was based on it instead of WWII. You have lit the hearts of many and the fires of many more. And I hope that this game can be remastered or have a sequel that will carry on this game's legacy for many years to come.

What I love about this game is how they treat the memory of those who fought in the Great War. Its not about the political and diplomatic issues which subjected Europe to misery, but the show of human tact and strength, so beautifully portrayed by the vivid characters which you control in this game. The compassion which is showed by Anna, the resolve showed by Emile. They aren't your orthodox war game characters. Finally a game which treated the conflict the respect it deserves. I never thought I say this since Assassins Creed 2, but well done Ubisoft.

If they made two WW2 versions, one for Nazis where you play as a young British soldier and the other for the Japanese where you play as a soldier from some Asian country, each game with ~30 hours of gameplay and including all the major battles, then I would be impressed. I'm demanding way too much, but, I know that Ubisoft can deliver.

***** ***** I think WW1 was violent more in the effect it had on the people, but it made them look towards a better tomorrow. WW2 was violent in the sense that it was quick and confusing. WW1 was a depressing war as it was fought over the tiniest things and it was fought very stupidly, Old-War style but with Modern Warfare technology. WW2 was very depressing because of how many people died so quickly because they were fighting with Modern Warfare tech in a Modern Warfare style, which proved incredibly effective.

WWII was much heavier on the warcrimes and civilian atrocities than WWI. Making a game that would highlight that aspect would become a political issue, since the two countries (Germany and Japan) that committed the most warcrimes during WWII are now a part of NATO and G8. Not to mention any direct reference to the Nazi regime and Hitler in most video games made in the last 10 years have been either censored in Germany. And Japan still hasn't fully acknowledged most of their WWII warcrimes overall; often refusing to teach it in their school curriculum and downplaying the numbers and atrocities in their textbooks. So basically most games like to stay out of controversy. And any WWII game that goes beyond the usual FPS approach of "here are enemy soldiers go shoot them" would most likely be shot down.

If you watch Nostalgia Critic you might remember the video where he discusses if games can be a work of art. This game is an example of art. It is a wonderful presentation of what happened during the WW1. I'm glad there are still war games, that actually present a story instead of SHOOT TARGET, CAPTURE A, GO TO B.
