The fact that the Valk Elite has potential to change people's mains is admittedly shocking, and definitely coerces me to use some of my well-saved allowance on a QiYi speedcube that has been in the works for about two years, being released just before the entire decade ends, with such new innovations. It's at the least, baffles me to see how as the decade started, speedcubers only had to deal with solving, lubing, and modding DIYs, Type-Fs, or even GuHongs and ZhanChis, yet now any cuber has access to technology that would have costed at least $50 two years ago, plus plus plus. Getting one soon!

We have the Gan 356 XS and now the Valk 3M Elite to be released. In between was the YJ MGC Elite premier. Speedcube tech is plateauing. And so are the prices. Is the tech even relevant anymore when it comes to optimum solve times? Or is it all about customization and feel? As far as acquisitions go I am speedcubed out. I think I will stick with what I have. I am still waiting to see the budget barrier broken with magnetic cubes. Still pretty happy with my YJ Yulong magnetics. They are not perfect but for the price it's pretty good. If a maker can break that price barrier I would be quite surprised.

"There aren't too many lockups, even with that marginal cornercutting" And this is why I stopped enjoying as you as much when I got faster. Look CSH, corner cutting is important, but *no one* is going to make a cut past 45 degrees in a solve. The corner cuts that actually matter are the small corner cuts made in solves with high tps, where you can't turn accurately. Around your avg(Sub 30) you don't have to turn fast, and you can focus on improving turning accuracy. Because a cube doesn't have good corner cutting doesn't mean it's bad. Take for example, the XS. The little line to line corner cuts(Both regular and reverse) are exceptional. It can't cut 45 degrees when testing, but testing conditions aren't solving conditions. To get a true opinion, you have to do some solves to see how it feels when you solve on it compared to when you're testing it, because that's two different environments.
