Жыл бұрынHill 881was one of the bloodiest battles of the war. During April-May 1967, two Marine battalions faced a large NVA force intent on destroying Khe Sanh. The Marines stormed the hills and were able to take them. Included are accounts by Dale Dye (Platoon, Finding Private Ryan, Band of Brothers) who fought as a marine in Vietnam.

These men who fought in the Vietnam war didn't deserve the welcome home of what the American people gave them on their return. They deserved way much more respect than anyone can offer them including Welcome home and and thanks for your service and sacrifices. I can;t say enough for their effort in containing the enemy and for their fight for our freedom. My only wish is that If I was old enough, I would have been there with my brothers in arms. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. I served with the Army long after the Vietnam war (1982) but was trained by much better men than me after the Vietnam war. They were some of the best men I ever knew as well as respected men.

Thoroughly enjoying this documentary series. However, in Part 8, the first War covered by Photographers was not the US Civil War but the Crimean War, 1854-6.

SGT. Berntson travelled with SGT. Dye at Hue City and other ops.

@@jonathonwatson2358 Not really. Minor difference. Soldier is a general term, encompassing more than just people in the army, when used outside military circles.

they were. they ran the operation starlite battle in mid 65

8 MAR 65'. Danang. Krulak and recon/ survey in Chu Lai area even earlier.
