Doesn't Technical Management have 3 Practices? 1. Deployment 2. Software Development and Mgmt 3. Infrastructure & Platform Mgmt ? Thank you for the videos, they are very, very good and helping a lot!

Thank you very much, glad you find them helpful. You are absolutely right, however, only Deployment Management is part of the Foundation course. The other practices are described in detail in the new ITIL 4 Pracrice Guides. Cheers, Alex

So you dont have to learn the other practices for the foundation exam? I cant find anything about not having to study the other practices in the Axelos itil foundation study book. You really dont have to learn for example availability management?

Are these seven practices the only ones that will be covered in the exam, or will the others be covered as well?

These 7 are the most important ones, but more will be covered as well during the official exam. For example, Demand, Release and IT Asset Management are included as well beside others. All of those are included in this video series as well. For the most important ones, you should have a deeper understanding about their details. For the other examinable practices, it is mostly enough if you know their definition and purpose. All the best, Alex

@@valueinsights Thank you for clarifying. I'm assuming these are the ones tested at Bloom's level 2 and the other 8 examinable practices are at Bloom's level 1.

Why is Project Management and Business Analysis are not included here?

Hi Kate Thanks for reaching out. Those practices are not part of the foundation syllabus and therefore, they are not examinable. They are covered in the more advanced courses like Drive Stakeholder Value and in the ITIL 4 Practice Guides. All the best, Alex

Isn't it "Change Control' in ITIL4 and not "Change Enablement" ?

Hi Thanks for your comment. In the evolution of ITIL 4, there has been a point when it was called Change Control, but then in the latest release, it was changed to Change Enablement. With this, they tried to emphasize, that change is not about rigorous controls, but decentralized decision-making. CABs should be created and allowed to decide on changes on their own, based on the type, size, complexity and risk of said change. All the best, Alex

@@valueinsights Interesting background information. I learned the foundations with pretty new course material, so I only knew the practice as _Change Enablement._ The term caught my attention while learning: As opposed to all the other practices, not only was it not called _Management._ But called by this unusual term. It seemed odd to break the naming consistency for this practice. But that does explain this presumably very deliberate change to "Enablement". So apparently, when they first came up with ITIL 4, "Management" was deemed too intrusive for what it stood for, and so _Change Control_ was their first take. A poor choice, as you implied - "Control" sounds arguably even more forceful than "Management". So, in short: That revision makes sense.

@@LinkEX Indeed, I totally agree. It is a much more subtle expression, which accommodates the capability of this practice to allow the organization to succeed, through the proper handling of meaningful changes supporting the organization's goals. Cheers, Alex
