I used Oven Cleaner and a tooth brush on my Merc EGR came up clean as a Whistle.

In the UK, the MOT test doesn't look for sulphur so removing the EGR valve wont fail the MOT.

Honestly if youre gonna do an EGR put your valve into a bucket of carb dip and use this spray in conjuction with it. Spray doesnt really loosen up where it cant reach. If that still isnt helping take your EGR dip it in carb dip for around 20 minutes-1 hour because the dip is harsh on the o rings/seals of the egr and hook a rubber hose up to your air compressor and hook the other end to your valve and blow the dip straight outta the valve with force!!!!!! then use this spray to wash out the rest!

EGR valve is a bear to remove if in place for decades. If you need to remove the valve, it's a no-deal. With the valve off car you can use whatever to clean it (engine cleaner/brake cleaner, water jet, compressed air, engine parts washer etc). Might as well change it if stuck.. or too dirty,.. relatively cheap.

I used it on hot components... now I'm typing with my feet.

soak in lighter fluid et and then set light to egr. allow to burn off for 30 seconds will burn it all off nice and clean

It didn't look to bad to begin with. Probably scraped most of the carbon off with a screwdriver before filming.

um is it safe to spray into your engine, like on lifters and such in ur crank case? just wondering.

I will clean my EGR valve today I'm waisting gas and possibly causing premature engine wear I'm having idle issues

El útlimo taller en el que me sustituyeron la bomba del agua me dejó mucho que desear y al tiempo descubrí que pierde un poco de anticongelante. Se lo llevé porque al principio era de una brida pero al tiempo me apareció otra pérdida.
