I can't even imagine the feeling of literally dying and losing your life for this child, at your weakest and most broken - physically and mentally - then getting to meet her for the first time at your strongest - experience-wise and physical-wise. She lost her life during this birth, and despite always wanting to become a vampire, the risks of having it happen when she is on the verge of death are high. She shouldn't have had to turn out of necessity, rather out of choice. This mother-daughter bond will last an eternity, and I could not imagine this scene any other way! (Perhaps without a CGI baby, however...) Lastly, I love Edward in this last scene. Not for his smile or mischievous laugh as he watched his wife beat the crap out of a werewolf, but rather for how he takes pride in this. He knows that Bella is strong and powerful, perhaps even making a note to himself not to get on her bad side. He also understands that Jacob has no control over his imprinting, otherwise, Jacob would be, well... dead. No discussion. Thank you so much for posting this! Twilight has always been one of my favorite series of all time! This just reminds us all what it was like to be a teenager who loved this hexalogy and wanted two people to fight over them and give them attention. This series, like I am sure it was for some, was an escape from our reality.

I get the idea of the imprint being a solution for the pack against pack fight problem, but it was such a cruel, forced on him decision for the character Jacob. He never wanted to imprint, all he ever wanted, for himself and others, was a free will, a choice in love. It would have served so much better if Seth would have imprinted on Renesmee and Jake could have found his happily ever after with the other strong soul, Leah. Alpha and alpha female. It would have healed so many broken hearts... and would have been real character development. Yeah well... Shoulda woulda coulda...

Newborn vampire or otherwise. Yeah I would’ve done the same thing. I could never, EVER hurt my own baby no matter what circumstance I’m put in. You imprint on MY daughter? You try to keep her away from me after our first meeting…when your initial hatred for her existence was the last thing I knew about when I was still human? AND THEN NICKNAME HER AFTER A MONSTER?
