It's not always easy to find a baby to play an onscreen baby. A lot of times twins or triplets are used to play one because of child labour laws. That could be why a CGI baby was used. Real babies and children can be unpredictable, and child labour laws very strict.

for those curious or confused. imprinting does not mean that jacob sees nessie as a sexual or even romantic partner. he sees himself as an older brother or guardian towarts her. for the time being thats all he will see himself as. until such a time when they do get to be the same age, jacob will remain 16 (yes he is supposed to be 16 years old) due to phasing keeping him from aging. eventually the relationship will evolve into friendship, and most likely into love though nessie could absolutely reject him. imprinting doesnt do anything to the imprintee. hes not influencing her in any sense, hes not grooming her. i get the context of the jokes, this comment if for those genuinely confused/curious

Some people seem to overlook that he had no control over imprinting on her, that was against his will. He would’ve killed Renesmee if he didn’t imprint, regardless of if he saw her as a monster or not. The way Jacob saw it before he even walked back inside the house was that Bella died because of her, so Renesmee must meet the same fate.

If Renesme was killed there by werewolves - either intentionally or by accident - all wolves in La Push involved in this in any way would instantly feel unbearable, unimaginable pain. A pain that would never go way until they died. And so their instinct would force them to fight to the death among themselves. Because death is more preferable to feeling that pain even one second longer. THAT's what happens when a person a wolf imprints on is killed by another wolf. ALL werewolves in La Push would end up dead. No exceptions. Because all of them were near Cullen's house in this particular moment and so they were involved in what happened.

The whole him imprinting on her was always weird to me because the connotations around imprinting is romantic the majority of the time. It almost always blooms into romance if it didn't start that way. The wolf who imprints sees years into the future with the imprintee. I understand that it doesn't always have romantic connotations which was later revealed when Bella confronted him about it and Jacob said "it's not like that. Do you think Edward would let me live if it was?". He had a point with that statement. Still doesn't change the fact that it's pretty weird lmfao

Imprinting in itself isn’t sexual/romantic and anyway you can’t really compare it to real life because werewolves don’t exist & neither does people imprinting. It’s make believe & the writer states that it’s not creepy grooming, it’s mutual unconditional love.. like two halves of the same soul. Just let it be what it is.

I think they did that to give Jacob a reason not to age in case there is ever a time jump. Obviously, I would have him choosing not to not age because he would want to be around Bella as her best friend or to protect his pack. I don’t like him imprinting on the baby at all but they should have done it when she was like 18. I think there was another wolf that imprinted on a kid too. Kids shouldn’t be imprinted on. It doesn’t give any of the imprinted free will or much choice to fall in love with someone else.
