Where did Van Gogh paint his last painting, eat his last meal, and spend his last night before he died? Just north of Paris is the small French village of Auvers Sur Oise. Van Gogh painted nearly 80 works of art. What's most amazing is that each location is nearly exactly how it was when Van Gogh was alive!
Come along with me to see the famous wheat fields he painted, the Church in Auvers, and the room where Van Gogh died with his brother Theo by his side. This village is amazing, and truly helps you understand who really was Van Gogh, and what happened during his last few days.

You work is just beyond words and amazing, Nate. What software do you use for the animations you create in your videos. They are just mind blowing.

Have you seen the movie "Loving Vincent"? They present an interesting hypothesis about his last days. They might be onto something.

I have seen it, and it's an amazing movie! I still can't believe they were able to make something like that happen. I think the movie mixed reality with fiction, which makes sense. I just keep looking at everything and everyone I have researched or interviewed for this series, and re-reading what his friend Paul Gauguin said. Paul, who truly was his best friend and knew him on a deep level, didn't even hesitate to say Van Gogh committed suicide. I think for him, it just made sense considering the mental state Van Gogh often found himself. I have a family member who is bipolar, and for me, Van Gogh's behavior resembles this family member so much. From extreme mood swings without any warning, extreme depression despite being surrounded by friends, and being depressed yet seeming to be living their best life. Anyway, I love talking about all of this! I'm less concerned about exactly how it happened, etc, and more concerned about people, and specifically artists, being aware of symptoms like Van Gogh's. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
