Add to your bucket list the Caesar cocktail: "The Caesar, also known as the Bloody Caesar, is considered Canada’s national cocktail. The key ingredients are vodka, clam juice, tomato juice, spices and Worcestershire sauce. It is typically served in a highball glass rimmed with celery salt and garnished with a celery stalk, olives and lime. Food and beverage worker Walter Chell invented the Caesar in Calgary, Alberta, in 1969. Since then, the drink’s popularity and origin have made it a national cultural icon. Canadians drink more than 400 million Caesars annually. However, it has not achieved significant reach beyond Canada." (Canadian encyclopedia). Look out for poison ivy as you stroll through the forest.

Hey you guys, welcome to Canada! I am native canadian from the Cree tribe based in central Alberta. If you are heading out this way, here is a few things about Alberta. The capital of Alberta is Edmonton, where this city has the most sunny days in the entire country! Alberta is home to the oil sands and where most people come to work, the oil sands are based in northern Alberta in Fort McMurray. Lots of money to be made up there is you have a trade. Anyway, I see you have a bucket list, and you have Ketchup chips, so cool, but you need to add "All Dressed Chips" to your list, they are kinda like a bar-b-cue flavor, you will love them, most canadians do. For your breakfast, get some canadian bacon. It's a staple up here, and if you are wondering what kind of bacon to get, it is called back bacon. You will love it. And I could not let you go without mentioning that you have to try Bannock (Indigenous) Bannock is a bread that was once a mainstay in the diets of Canada’s Indigenous people. It’s delicious and flexible. Baked and fried, varieties of Bannock are two modern variations which are crispy and fluffy on the inside. Bannock has been increasingly popular in recent years, with new twists and variations sprouting up in bakeries and cafes across the country. Enjoy and again, welcome to Canada! Safe travels!

One thing to clarify. Georgian Bay is cold at the time you were there but midsummer it’s warm enough to swim. I spent many summers as a kid swimming in Georgian Bay around Midland (Balm Beach) and Wasaga Beach. You’ll discover how much colder glacier fed lakes and rivers are when you visit Banff😊

The Grotto has a small hole in the rock to slide down thru to get into the cave. That's how i usually get down to it. Also, when you're at the beach..... If you swim around the right side there's a small cave that has a table top rock in the middle. The water is so cold even in August that when you're in there, you can see your breath inside. My top favourite spots in Ontario

There is coniferous, which are basically evergreen that dont shed leaves in the fall,a lot of them also spread by cones. Deciduous trees are the ons that shed leaves in the fall and grow new in the spring.

Know Chrome and Emi each are traveling different route going north for the summer might try catching up with one of them and follow back down south to VC island if you'll be there into fall. They plus others have traveled all over Canada and probably have some suggestions of other places to go see.

It's just important to say that you are only crossing about half of Canada. To the east you won't have visited Quebec, New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador. Don't forget that you would have about 3000 km (say 2000 miles) to do to get to the Easternmost point of Canada from Niagara Falls.

Am Canadian. Ketchup chips were definitely something I loved more as a kid. These days I lean more towards the "wavy" plain chips (low salt) or cheddar jalepeno from Lay's (same brand you bought here). You should also try a Coffee Crisp chocolate bar! I grew up close to the American border, the chocolate here is much better than in the US.

Hey guys new sub here. Really excited to see you guys hit one of my favorite places to camp and explore in the world. The BP. I feel bad you couldnt explore Flower Pot Island. The island is so cool and has such an ancient, primordial vibe. Concerning your tree comments. Deciduous trees are leafy trees yes and "evergreens" are conifers. The strange tree you were looking at was an eastern white cedar. They grow oddly up in that region because the soil is shallow and the roots have to expand in strange patterns to find soil and water in an area capped by limestone. Flowerpot has cedar trees that are up to 700 years old from I remember. Anyway welcome to Canada and enjoy the rest of your trip.

Love your flexibility when plans must change. In Ontario you need to have some fresh walleyed pike! In Alberta I highly recommend the Kananaskis Loop that is near Canmore, between Calgary and Banff. It is beautiful, wild, and good camping. Lots of wildlife on and near the road. I am envious of your journey, but glad I get to share it vicariously.

It makes me smile if Americans celebrate the drive to Canada as a new country, where most people also speak english. Here in Europe it is absolutly normal to cross other countries. When I travel to my home country I already crose 3 other countries, France, Belgie, Netherlands. Lots of German Camper fans spend their winter in Spain. In order to go there, you need to cross France. Or Italy, which makes you crossing Switzerland and or Austria. If you should ever be able to, maybe you rent a van over here in Europe and do some travelling here? There is so much to see.

Saskatoon berries, Canadian beef, buffalo burger, Nanaimo bars. Try chips from more than one company. Ketchup chips from Lays do not taste like those from Humpty Dumpty, etc. Try different sweets to see if you can notice any difference. In Canada we mostly sweeten with sugar from sugar cane (white sugar, brown sugar and molasses). Corn syrup is used in some commercial products; and of course their is always our great maple syrup (try the sugar, toffee and maple butter). A few typical sweets you might find are oatmeal and molasses cookies.

Hey! I lived on the Bruce for 11 years. The Grotto is beautiful, but it is very cold. The only time you can swim is in July or August, although September can be nice. When I say nice, I mean, maybe 70° Fahrenheit? That being said, I have seen some people swim in June... and believe it or not, clothing like jeans can help keep some body heat from disappearing even if wet. Once out, you need to change into dry duds very quickly. The earliest I've been in is our Victoria Day weekend in May - the weekend before your Memorial Day weekend. I am not too concerned about the spiders, but rattle snakes abound as well as a fair number of black bears.

Got to love Van life😂 stock up on food fits in the small hand carry basket. Since I solo RV I should probably use a small basket to stop spending over 150 a week at grocery😅😂
