Sorry for the long delay... check me out on Instagram, Strava, and Patreon for the latest news! I do some interior decorating, snowshoe up Canoe Mountain, and cook something not even close to authentic Chicken Karahi. I know I butchered the pronunciation and recipe! Thats how I do things here, enjoy the video! RIP Crockpot, we had a good run.

That Crockpot was slowly rusting to death in a Goodwill. Just when it was about to slip into a dusty coma, you took it out on the road, showed it the world and made it an international superstar! "It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, CrockPot. Survived by its best friend and confidante, Simon, Crock was a simple pot, living its best life in 4-6 hour increments of pure joy by its best friends' side. Having travelled through all of western Canada, and with a range of flavours constantly being created within its warm walls, you could say it was a seasoned Crockpot, who lived life to it's fullest, surely to leave your heart as warm as a channed Killy. You will be missed, Crock". Pot, Crock 2019-2021

I know that mountain well, have been up there many times in my younger years. That structure on the peak is the old Canadian National Railways microwave tower. The road was built to to bring up a tanker of diesel fuel every August to run the electric generator. A fiber optics network made the tower obsolete. One day a friend stepped off his snow machine at the peak and disappeared through the cornice. A tragic event. Another time forty five years ago I was driving up that road and my land rover was charged by a moose. The moose won that battle. Now I live 250 km to the south and get along with a cane or walking stick. Have fond memories of the Robson Valley and friends who are all gone now. Stay safe Forest. You are one of our best - a national treasure.

You need to know, Foresty, that you are among the very best You Tubers - apart from your video skills (editing and drone work) and your “hiking and biking`’ achievements, it’s your authenticity that makes for compelling viewing. Your humility is refreshing in this “look at me” age. I speak as someone who spent more than 40 years in television, mostly as a foreign correspondent, who’s “got all the T-shirts” (and a fellow colonial!). FF you are a multi-expression Artist of great talent. The drone footage, other worldly, the 100% no fluff content (that other YTubers would have parsed out, making a whole video on each topic). It is poetry the way you reveal a story from the music, dry humour, videography to the plotline... I mourn the crockpot but the counterpoint is the beauty of the story of the blown glass object with no purpose other than joy, so pure. Carrying with you a beautiful, fragile "survivor" found in the literal bowels of humanity... what a talisman of everything meaningful and wise from high to low in a lifetime. It's not what you do (it is that too) but how you relate that is so classic and amazing. I'm utterly sincere, take the damn compliments!!

Take time to mourn, but apparently Mr. (Ms.?) Crockpot missed Mr. (Ms.?) Old Minivan so much he/she could bear no more to be separated (although I guess technically Minivan is not yet deceased, but nonetheless separated from us...). RIP old friends... I swear I will someday climb to the summit to the resting place of Crockpot to sign the ledger and pay my respects to the beloved countertop appliance...😢

I remember many drives like that. BTW where did you get your blender? I have one I charge by USB, but it's not as strong as I like. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽

@Scooter McDingleberry A terrarium seed starter would use the glass lid too. But better to label the glass top with the quart size and model and donate back due to glass lids are always needed for replacements.

@Scooter McDingleberry No no..I just have experience breaking lots of glass lids lol! I liked very the flower pot idea..but the crock has no drainage holes and flower roots would rot. It looks like he has a small lavender plant already and he has tried growing greens.

I refurbed my crock pot, reattached the heating wires, cleaned up the rust... it worked ok, but in the end, the switch was bad (didn't work in low, only high) and buying another thrift store crock pot for $7 was the easiest fix. I couldn't find a new switch that would fit inside the case. These things are built to a price point, they're all rusty inside once you wash them a few times. That dang one-way nut on the bottom is designed to thwart reassembly too. Anyhow thanks for the memories that will live on in our hearts forever, and the recipes as well! (PS, since you don't have solar, running the big inverter for 80-160W slow cooks may not be the most efficient thing. Pressure cooking will use less energy total (1200w peak, but only intermittently after it heats) You can also saute in the instant pot.
