Break down and get a tarp!! I agree that you didn't want to use anything that wasn't there in the forest, but tree bark also leaks after time. You could also take the tarp off when you leave the hut. Just sayin'.

The skiing (@14:20-15:70) is a bit fast for my taste and dramatically increases your chances of serious injury. Why not slow down a bit and make the enjoyable experience last longer while decreasing your odds of injury? I am not saying go slow just not so fast. Especially given you are alone with a beloved pet. Fantastic video, the photography and audio are excellent. Award worthy.

@6:00 I would put a sign in the passenger window that simply said "smile, you are being recorded". If you want to install a or multiple trail camera(s) that is up to you. If you do, keep it to yourself. 2-3 a good investment.

Welcome to the Club:) Too much stimuli from espesially smartphones, video/movies get me kind of «burned out» in my brain = it’s just to much for the whole of me to handle!So being in the nature here in Norway is my «escape»/solition - like now, in my diy-campervan - and it brings me, hmm, peace 😊 Take care, man ✌️ Kjell

Social media contributes to a healthier lifestyle than this type of living used to be. Granted, it's not the same, but communicating even by only text is helpful. I wish you would have spoken about digital connectivity issues.

Hey man, great cabin that was. Can you make a video talking about your experience with bears? You're walking alone mostly in silence (very dangerous) in bear country and I imagine you've had many encounters? I'm a little worried that Rocko might actually provoke a grizzly by barking in case of a close encounter...
@nancyhanson347213 сағат бұрын
Yes, that would be very interesting and helpful to many viewers. And I have often wondered if Foresty calls out or somehow makes noise when he is hiking in the dark at 4:30 a.m. He shows himself apparently hiking in silence at that time of the morning. It would be good to know if he is really doing this or not.
@nancyhanson347213 сағат бұрын
Some people might make fun of this, but maybe a transistor radio or the occasional blast of an air horn would be helpful, too. I have read articles that said that bear bells do not work.
@shinnok494112 сағат бұрын
@@nancyhanson3472 Yeah, I've also read that bells don't work. Not that I would walk around with one if they did, cause it will drive me crazy in a few minutes lol. I think the best way to let bears know you're around is by talking out loud. But since Foresty is hiking solo, maybe he can instead go for a portable bluetooth speaker and play some podcasts/songs along the way. When I go out there, I usually carry an axe and I bang on trees real hard from time to time, but I'm not sure how effective that is. I've never had an encounter. I know he carries bear spray, so do I, but if the bear is determined to get ya, bear spray might fail to stop it. Chances are very slim, but still... everybody thinks shit won't happen to them, until one beautiful day, out of nowhere, it happens.

Hey Mr.Forest, I've been watching your channel for at least a couple of years now and I must say you've been on one hell of a journey. Congratulations and good luck wherever the road may lead in the future. I would like you to know that there's an author/teacher by the name of Vivian Lougheed from Prince George B.C. that has written an excellent travel/hiking guide book about Kluane National Park. She also wrote South America By Chicken Bus. There's a very good chance that both of you have walked and stood on the same ground in Kluane. She was a teacher at my school ( Duchess Park High School ). She signed me a copy of her Kluane book that I still have to this day 25 years later. In it she wrote - The Spirits Of True Life Walk These Trails. And hoped that someday I would see the same sights she saw. I'm almost 50 now and not likely ever getting that far up north. It would be great if somehow you could have my book. P.S. Rocko is a champion too. ( I'm so damn glad I didn't need Grammerly to write all this. LOL ). Stay safe my friend. Myself and many, many others really appreciate your adventures and excellent videos. Thank you.
