So....the last 4 years have been some journey for me.... Leukemia. My soulmate , my love , my squeeze , my friend.....left me high and dry. Decided she'd had enough of caring for me. I've been in the lowest of lowest places imaginable. Shaken hands with cancer, stood at the edge with no hope , something just something somewhere held my hand. Van Morrison has always been my " go to" in times of trouble. My healing has begun....my leukemia is under control, have someone new in my life....NEVER give up folks....Van Morrison has been my healer. I can easily drift into another world listening to this...pure genius.

I met a beautiful woman that is my whole world. She is the wind in my sails and the North Star that I navigate back to safe harbor with. I was in a mental storm for 4 years after a really F...ed up divorce and the death of my son. I now see the shoreline coming into view. I am blessed beyond words. She is gorgeous and smart. Brains, beauty, and grace. I melt at her touch. I wake to her thought and go to sleep to her thought. Gratitude is not a strong enough word or emotion. Gotta go in. Sun now gone and it’s cold. Need to eat. Heat on etc. My friend’s family were so lovely today. Helped me with loads of stuff. Put door back on garden shed so I can now put lawnmower etc back in there n lock it. Everything dumped in snooker room til that got sorted. Fixed light switch living room, checked other fittings, put heavy base n umbrella on patio, etc. Gave her a sofa n a magnolia tree. I love magnolia trees. Rita across the road has an impressive one. My mum used to have the best garden in town but it’s crap since she went away. Nothing compares to her. That pic here by the way her maybe Ashford Castle on honeymoon. Costs an arm n a leg these days. Probably owned by some Americans. There are a lot of photos there of her as well as Limerick, Galway, Kerry…

Just gets to you, to the core..throws you back in time....yes when we were younger and sang from the heart the poetry we heard from the greats like Van and Joan Baez and Dylan, the Birds, and later R.E.M., and so many more---words that struck Depp. Words that endure today, more than ever. It's part nostalgia and part missing the power they had...because their songs were of peace. and I find myself, many years later, playing them over and over, or singing them wherever I am. Without denying the future, I do miss this incredible generation that brought about real change. Today's youth is picking up on that synergy and strongly. And I keep humming, "Forever young."
