Tip for pulling "fishing line" get an old thin (1 3/8" th) bicycle inner tube, Cut small pieces to put over the fingers that you will be pulling the line with, The line will not dig into your fingers, This is an old "hand line" fishermen's trick , Van is looking great, love how that paint looks!!!

Perfect! I am in the process of restoring a Westy, but converting it to a work van (keeping just the popup top). I was thinking of using aluminum sheet to replace the rear windows too. Now I know the size and thickness. Thanks!

Should I be worried about Alu being softer metal when fastening things onto it? Ratteling when driving etc...

Looks great. I was expecting high gloss black...you might want to insulate that panel before you put that cabinet back.

When you cut aluminum like that use a really fine jigsaw blade but spray some sort of lubricant on it as you go it will cut really fast

to cut aluminum or to sand- your blades and abrasives must be covered in tallow- to prime always use chomium oxide-- its a sick color yellow- but only after pickling with acid bath-- vinegar should do it-- resarch the process its been 30 years since my factory days
