Saw this live. She was the one bright spot for Gilas in this game. Legit scoring and passing threat. The rest of the team was intimidated but they did get better as the tournament progressed.

Basketball is a HUGEEEE sport in The Philippines, The entire population of Australia is only about that of Manila and Basketball there is a VERY MINOR sport.

Just add Kayla Padilla and De Jesus with the Afril and the rest of the gilas women. Give them the opportunity to play International and not idle at the sideline.. I think more exposure to International women basketball league.

I agree, that's why japan is the 5× champ of this tournament and also silver olympic medallist and they beat Australia before, Philippines lack skills and talent and athleticism even the coach is rubbish 🤪🤡

GILAS SHOULD FOLLOW OTHER NATIONAL TEAM SPECIALLY IN MENS BASKETBALL AND WOMENS FOOTBAL WHERE THEY RECRUIT FILIPINO WITH MIXED RACE. THERES SO MANY FIL AMERICAN BASKETBALL PLAYER WHO CAN PLAY FOR THE TEAM LIKE LAILANI MCINTOSH CAL BERKLEY, MALIA BAMBRICK PEPPERDINE AND LEXIE MARKS LMU.

Pity the unfortunate, unlucky Philippines Women's Gilas player who had to be cut from the team. Literally on the eve of the tournament start. Must've been heartbreaking for that player . Just so this VIP player De Jesus could be inserted into the lineup at the last minute. So unfair, really....but that's Philippine sports. PALAKASAN !!!!

It's ironic that this is her debut on international competition, yet she scored more than all of her teammates who already had international exposure. Yes.. team Australia is way bigger than them, That's a fact . But there is no contribution from the rest of team in terms of scoring plus there is no defense and no offense. If her teammates could only give her the help that she needed then that huge score difference couldn't happen. They maybe still lost but not that big. If i was Vanessa, I may be disappointed to the rest of the team.

Ang mga malaki matatangkad at malalakas tumalon ay nasa volleyball! ! Na kahit sa seagames hindi man lang makagold! Bakit hindi na lang sila mag silipat sa basketball subrang lilit 5"2 , 5'4 ilalaban mo sa international?? 6 feet above!! Na mga kalaban,!! Zero chance!!!
