Vanessa hosts the 2004 Daytime Emmys. She also presents the Lifetime Achievement Award in memoriam to Anna Lee's son.

And I LOVE how Brenda jumps up as soon as she gets to the microphone at the beginning.. she waves to her friends (the cast of GH)... I thought that was cute. I also thought it was cute that she said "there will be no reading a monologue someone tried to make up for me, there will be no singing, and no dancing"..lol!. I understand.. she didn't want to embarrass herself..LOL! I wouldnt want to do it either if I knew I wasn't good at it.

MAN Brenda looks absolutely stunning here. I saw some of the clip when they first announced her name to host, but that was all I saw. Thanks for posting a longer clip that shows most if not all of what she did/said that night. And I'm sure she wanted to say GENERAL HOSPITAL so bad during the last nomination:-( oh well.

I always lose it when Vanessa starts choking up. Luved Lila Q and still miss her 2 this day. Vanessa looked Fab BTW.

@neetrab - i still love brenda! yes she is not as feisty anymore but she has been thru hell that most people would not be able to survive. she is strong and loving. luza has put her thru more heartache and angst than any other character ever on the show...

@MelanieLuvsSorenda yeah that dress was banging. well she is the best crier in the history of daytime. she's so sweet and her emotions are right on the surface. loved anna lee too! her friendship with B was beautiful!

You can tell how disappointed Vanessa was when GH lost and The Young and the Restless won. Her voice showed that when she was anouncing the nomonees

oh I still love brenda too, and last night, I found myself defending this woman to a good amount of Carly fans on the Simplygh's channel. (She posts everydays episodes on her channel after maybe a couple of hours after the show comes on tv). It was crazy. I hate that most if not all of the viewers want her to leave PC. I really wish they didn't bring her back if I knew they were going to treat wreck her S&B/Brenda story SO bad.

@LeytonBrax "...but she has been thru hell that most people would not be able to survive. she is strong and loving." -You're right. & that is why I HATE how most peeps nowadays think she's too weak & such a spoiled brat. 1st, I never understood peeps saying she's selfish and spoiled, I never could see it in her. 2nd, those peeps that haven't seen her on tv act like they've known of her character forever. They weren't even around during her 90 yrs, so I don't think they should even say anything.

@neetrab did you watch my clip of her winning the emmy? she looked absolutely stunning! gorgeous dress and her hair was highlighted and curly - beautiful just beautiful! she is an angel on earth:)

@neetrab - yeah, i watch them religiously. i have her saga on 66, yes 66, 4-hour dvds that's how i have every scene she's ever been in and post to YT...

@neetrab - yeah, most of her fans are older like mid-30s because they grew up on her. so not as many on FB but there are a lot on twitter and the forums...

@LeytonBrax - haha!! Oh, okay..LOL! I figured you had your VCR set (in the 90's) for EVERYTHING Vanessa. I didn't know how you did it. I wish I had those dvd's, but I don't. And I don't think it's good that I have all those dvd's anyway... or else I'd get nothing done.

@LeytonBrax - yea I've never seen this emmy's episode. So when someone posted it on youtube, i was so happy. I think it's a SHAME to NO END that GH has sucked so bad and let Carly be the one with the keys to the kingdom on that show. I know the show had to move on because Vanessa wanted to do other projects, but I think they should have looked FURTHER into the future KNOWING that Vanessa/Brenda was going to be back on the show. How they made her now is a complete nightmare for me.

@LeytonBrax - yea I'm sure I saw it. Someone else posted it as well, so I'm not sure if it was your clip. I think I posted on someone elses. Do you know when the next emmy's will be on? What month do they usually air, do you know?

@LeytonBrax - question, how do you have ALL of Vanessa's appearances on tape??????? You must have known when she was going to be on tv. It's hard to know EVERY SINGLE APPEARANCE she does. I have seen you put up interviews, these emmy clips, and of course the soap clips of where she appears... how did you do it?:-)

@LeytonBrax - haha! YUP! Too bad GH SUCKS BAD right now. Oh well. And yes I fell in love with that dress she's wearing since the first time I saw it on her. It was the perfect dress for her. Her hair looks great, (even though I usually HATE parts in the middle), her make up looks great and EVERYTHING.. she had the body for that dress...

I'm sorry Vanessa... but to ME, "Friends" was NOT one of the greatest shows in the world..LOL! Yea, their ratings were really good, but I couldn't see why...lol! The show was nice, but I didn't it was THAT great...

*snore*....did she even HOST this thing? All she did was introduce the presenters. While I'm not a Vanessa fan, I just have to ask...what qualifications did she have to host? They usually give that gig to someone with a history in comedy. Prior to this, VM wasn't known for comedy or any hosting prowess....and it showed Also, at 2:33 she's utterly unprofessional by insulting the awards show's writer(s)

As the opening narration from Aaron May pointed out: a) she had just completed the first season of the drama series _Las Vegas,_ which was on NBC, who had the rights to the telecast that year) b) she had left _General Hospital_ the previous season. The year before, ABC had the rights, and Wayne Brady of _Whose Line?..._ and the host of an eponymous daytime talk show, as well as an eponymous comedy series of the same title a few years earlier, hosted the show. Marcil took an unneeded potshot at Brady's hosting prowess during the opening (no monologue, no singing, no dancing.)
