That is the future of outdoors type tripods, Arca/Picatinny compatible. If you don't prefer Carbon Fiber, remember they always have aluminum versions which are also a bit cheaper. For my $, I'm always going to lean towards the Carbon Fiber versions for their shock resistance and weight to strength ratio.
