hiiii ggb:)
this weeks episode is all about vanity. we discussed what God says about it, our journey with vanity, different forms of vanity, how it can be detrimental to your life and how to overcome it.
we also give our updated take on modesty. where we stand with it now vs our initial modesty episode from almost a year ago.
we can't thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to do this every week. for growing with us. for loving us like you do. you're our everything.
we love you guys so much.
Jesus loves you more.

just wanted to share an extremely vulnerable post. Me and my boyfriend have decided to re wait for marriage. He always wanted to and i actually used to scream at him saying “go find someone else to will wait because i can’t” my dad sexually abused me multiple times when i was a baby. and i was S’D as a teenager. I’ve felt like i had the devil choking me. I genuinely believe without sex i was unworthy of life and love. I’ve never prayed about it though because i was so ashamed of it. till one day. i was watching your guys podcast on purity. and i got so mad i couldn’t watch it. so for 3 hours i would watch it,turn it off etc. because i knew it was good but i genuinely felt like i had a generational bad spirit around me my whole life. I finally prayed about it. and i started praying for my dad that his lust will go away, and that God will flee off all bad spirits. and that’s when i felt the presence of that evil spirit. that was the scariest night of the life. I started praying over and over again even though i was scared to pray? i felt this voice like stop praying. it was to the left of me and it was AWFUL. i was saying the bible verse Psalms 90. over and over again. God stepped in and it was gone. 🎉ever since then. i am so excited to say that i brought it up to my boyfriend that i wanna wait for marriage. And i finally feel clean, and safe in my own body. My whole life i felt so scared to be alone. Before i found God i was into which craft and i’ve experienced demonic spirits many times. I actually had sort of a possession of a devil enter me Freshman year of high school. shorty after that i tried killing myself. i become very angry. And then i went into which craft. i’m 20 years old now and i really feel like God BROKE THE CHAINS OFF ME!!!! i really pray you guys see this. you guys have changed me, i look up to you guys so much. thank you for listening to my story. God bless🥺❤️

Good point. Why would God make beautiful flowers 💐 and then tell us to be ugly? I have a big issue with women who will not prioritize beauty and attractiveness for marriage. The book is called Song of Songs for a reason.

I respectfully kind of disagree. I think the worlds view of beauty and its beauty standards are warped. What the world finds ugly I think God often sees as beautiful. He made us all fearfully and wonderfully made in his image. So why do we find the need to cover what is already beautiful. We don't need makeup, eyelash extensions, hair extensions, big lips, tan skin, fancy nails, flawless skin, and other things to be beautiful. It's the soul that is beautiful in a Godly women. Imagine what this world would look like if there was not beauty standards and constant comparison. It's impossible for God to make something 'ugly' because we are made in his image. God loves our wrinkles, skin blemishes, scars, stretch marks, curly or straight hair, freckles and everything thing else about us because he knit us in our mothers wombs. But at the end of the day- we all have insecurities and I battle with myself to try see me how God sees me every day. 🙏🏻❤️🫂

@nicoleswift1806 Outside of marriage, I would agree. For me, burning 🔥 with passion for a woman (1 Corinthians 7:9) is about the prettiness of her spirit (1 Peter 3:3-5) and her physical attractiveness (Song of Songs 7:1-8; Genesis 29:17-18). Like Jacob, I certainly am inspired to work for a gorgeous, godly wife. As for a Christian sister whom I am not interested in thinking about marriage with, I just hope she takes care of her physical health and cares for her godly character.

I really appreciate Ang saying that she doesn’t want to be viewed in a sexual way. “I don’t want anyone to look at me like that”- those words I think freed me. I was at the gym and I didn’t care about how I was dressed or viewed I just cared about my workout. I also don’t want to see ppl in a sexual way, so I appreciate this truth. And Ari saying to stop thinking about yourself was powerful too. It is so selfish to just think about how you look. Thanks for reminding me of God’s truths❤

Bringing back beautiful! Maybe you girls should start a clothing line that is beautiful, conservative and modest. I was reading a thread of girls talking about ladies in the 50's and 60's and the way they dressed, the way they carried themselves. They also said they miss getting dressed up to go to Church, to go to dinner or really dressed up to go to theater. It was so encouraging!! And the pictures of 50's women side by side with fashion today's was REALLY sharp contrast of beautiful and ugly. Someone said we should bring back beautiful!!! Everyone exploded with yes! So there's an appetite for something new, something beautiful and something "well made" and good quality. So just planting that seed. Keep the podcast ... no matter what ... but consider a clothing line! I think it would be a hit!!!❤❤❤

I started my walk with Jesus in 2017 (Lukewarm) I started binge drinking in 2020 I didn’t realize I had a problem until I started experiencing “Hangxiety” This year I joined a online community and started reading the Bible. I was almost done with the Bible reading challenge when I was scrolling through KZfaq and saw your video I don’t recall what video it was but it wasn’t the first time it was suggested on my feed Only this time I stopped to watch it. I just wanted to let you girls know that I was delivered from alcoholism while I was watching your video. I stood up from my chair at work and told God “I’m done take the alchohol I don’t want it and I don’t need it” I can’t explain what I experienced but I felt his presence. Keep doing what you’re doing ❤

Hi my brothers and sisters in Christ. I just want to ask for your prayers, please pray for my nephew, baby Ethan, he's just 2 days old. My nephew is in the NICU right now, he's not in a good condition. He had no oxygen for quite some time while my sister was giving birth to him and there was some complications, but he survived. In fact, my nephew was doing good yesterday but now they're reviving him. His heart rate is fluctuating. I've been praying to God to do a miracle healing and recovery over my nephew, baby Ethan. I also want girls to remember that it’s totally okay to not do nails and makeup, it doesn’t make you any less beautiful if you don’t. Jesus will still love and value you the same and he sees you as a precious daughter in Christ, you’re not missing out on “beauty” and you’re for sure not ugly just because you don’t go to certain lengths to get ready even though there’s nothing wrong with that either.

I gave a two session testimony to my young adults class about learning how to love yourself after struggling with body dysmorphia and there wasnt a dry eye in the room. I still cant believe i allowed myself to be that vulnerable but im so grateful God gave shy/quiet me this opportunity to share to my class. Dont know who needs to hear this but if you are struggling to find the beauty in your appearance know that everything God has made is beautiful. You might not believe it because of society’s beauty standards but their definition of perfection is not Gods definition and therefore their opinion on your appearance does NOT matter. You are are a work of art that God wanted to display to the world to show just how many beautiful things he can make. You were fearfully and wonderfully made, this you KNOW.

It’s so good to hear you two share how you have grown up and felt regarding wanting to be seen as beautiful by other women and desired by men. I hate that I have felt that way my whole life, but sadly, that’s just the way it was and what was pushed on us from society. It makes me feel better to know I’m not alone in that. I struggle a lot with those thoughts and feelings, but I’m not giving up. I have been saying to myself lately, it doesn’t matter if anyone wants me or not, God wants me! And He is truly good! He really cares about me and my wellbeing. He just wants us to come to Him and have a loving relationship with Him forever. Your guys words encourage me that one day I won’t struggle with it as much or hopefully at all! I’m not perfect at all in my walk with God, but I want to take delight in Him. Thank you for being honest and pointing us back to Jesus! God bless you all :)

Great episode. It was good hear a Christian approach to the topic of beauty and appearance from your perspective. I have struggled for a long time with appearance issues, aware that I am not what people would consider to be physically attractive. To be sure, attractivness is not the panacea to all our ills, but in this world it does open doors, socially and professionally, that otherwise seem to be closed to physically unattractive people.

Sisters!! I'm so proud of your growth and your unwavering love for Jesus. I’ve been watching since day 1 and I’m amazed seeing the changes only God can make in someone happening in you two right before our eyes. Thank you for your vulnerability and honesty, purity and modesty. I have been making sure to keep you both and your ministry in my prayers because I know the weight and the warfare that comes with doing Gods will. You two have a sister and a brother in NYC (the Bronx and Harlem:).. keep us in your prayers as well ✝️ Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Much love 💕 UsInJesus

If have makeup for you is good I think like fast, give up food which makes you feel good, give up make up is a very good effort for the Lord. God is a perfect Creator so I don't think we need make up to be beautiful. If you know your identity in Christ you will feel good and beautiful without makeup. In the beginning you will not like it but your regard will change and you will see the perfect creature that God created ! So try to show us a picture of you without makeup for the glory of God😉❤ PS: God used Esther beauty but I don't think she had makeup on 🤷‍♀️ God guide you❤

I love this and it’s very convicting. I just want to say though that when it comes to modesty and what the Bible says about it, I’m actually learning now that it doesn’t have nearly as much to do with how much our bodies are covered or whatever. However, please don’t misunderstand me as I’m NOT saying that we should dress provocatively and especially with that intention. Purity culture has made a lot of mistakes though. Purity is absolutely important and equally for men and women but that Christian culture has done a lot of damage to women and girls. The Bible never teaches that a man’s lust is based on how a woman dresses. Even when proverbs speaks of the immoral, adulterous or seductive woman it literally says NOTHING about how she’s dressed. That passage used to bother me until I realized that. It was her seductive words and behaviour. The Bible never said that a woman showing her stomach is lustful. Culture predicts what’s lustful. What’s appropriate at the office is different at the beach. I used to judge Christian women who wore a bikini but now I see how silly that is. In the Middle East women’s ankles are considered a sex object, lol. The Duggar’s were so legalistic and made everything about the opposite sex and particularly the female body sooo taboo that it likely was part of the reason that there oldest son was so tempted and fell. Sometimes the more taboo we make something like a woman’s stomach actually is accomplishing the opposite that we intend and we’re sexualizing something that wasn’t intended. I think this is the reason that women and girls have so unfortunately been partly blamed in culture when they were the victims of sexual assault, violence and abuse. We need to be careful how much emphasis we put on a female’s clothing. When a guy goes around with his abs and muscles showing no one blinks an eye. His body could be stumbling a woman or another man too. When we read the passages about women having modesty that word isn’t really taking about what’s covered and what’s not. It talks about expensive clothes, jewelry and elaborate hairstyles. No one ever talks about that through when talking about modesty, the amount of money someone spends on clothing isn’t talked about. I’m learning that like everything else we read in scripture, sometimes we need to kind of erase from our minds everything we have heard about the topic we’re studying and ask “what is this text really referring to.” Purity culture has gotten so much wrong. Lisa Harper is one of my favourite Christian speakers and she’s joked about how in the past when she worked for ‘Focus on the Family’, they weren’t allowed to wear open toe shoes because the line between the toes resembled cleavage. Lol. See how messed up we can get? At the same times though it is so important for our intentions to be good and to not have the motive of dressing provocatively or being seductive etc. Actually modest for women in biblical context simply means to not that our adornment be merely outward but the inward intentions of the heart. That’s it! We should never intend to stumble anyone and should also be careful not to in any way, not just with sexual temptation but the passage on stumbling others is intended for both men and women. I know the modesty passages were different but we have to read carefully the context of it all. Sadie Robertson Huff has a podcast episode with her Mom on modesty and it really helped me to understand the context more too. Thanks Ladies! Love you both and love this episode. It’s helped me a lot. God Bless you both and your ministry. ✝️ 💚

27:20 Every married man at Men's group testified that they got saved because a beautiful Christian girl invited them to church or church camp! When they got to church or the church camp they had their hopes up expecting the Christian girl to be a romantic interest. But alas, she had a boyfriend. Fortunately, the men fell in love with Jesus and eventually all of them got married to wonderful Christian women!

You girls are the best. Thanks for being so cheerful and having such a good time with each other and letting us see all that it really makes my day and my week. I noticed Ari having to hike up her dress a few times with that nervous look. I have never understood why women wear things that they have to constantly adjust. I would go out of my mind if all day, I was aware that my blouse or my shirt, or whatever was prone to over exposing me, and I had to keep paying attention to that. Love you girls

@@luisakuhn3674 I actually wasn’t feeling judgmental. I finally got reminded of what this film series was, thanks to your comment. Previously I kinda vaguely knew the channel's name had something to do with "fornography" but I just couldn't recall the exact video/s. I now clearly remember that back in the days when I was a Godless hedonist I used to watch movies from that particular series a lot, if you know what I mean. It's genuinely shameful that these two women are using a fornographic show's title to promote "Christian" content. I still refuse to condemn these people though, because it's entirely possible for someone to fully believe in Jesus, God and Christianity and still have lots of misunderstandings and misconceptions about what they really mean and how we should live our newfound Christian lives. I myself was taught that the practice of h0m0-se_uality and porn were completely fine in Anglican Christianity lol. All I can do, and all we should do is to pray for these two women and hope that God opens their eyes to the truth.

They were in the modeling industry which I'm sure they felt pressure to hold up to the world's standard of beauty before being christians and even if they did it doesn't matter what matters is their hearts and their love for Jesus he doesn't look for the outward but the inward and we all should be focusing on our own lives and where we fall short. What's your motivation behind finding out that information like what does it benefit you to find that out ?

I must be honest, this podcast feels a little bit of, I think that deep down you two know that you still wear to much make up, and my husband would definetly say something if i would wear something like Ari is wearing. It sounds a little bit like you are making excuses for it, and defend it in a way that shows that there is still a way to go. I really believe that, when we as women can show that we dont need make up and clothes to feel beautiful, we show Gods true love. Think about al those dads who see there girls beautys destroyed when they start wearing make up, that is exactly how God looks at us women, I know that he finds us way more beautiful and pure without make up, and it makes His hart sad if we do it. But you two defend wearing make up, saying God loves beauty, but that really feels off. Just had to say it. Still love and respect the journey you are on so much!
