We decided to spend Thanksgiving weekend in the San Juan Islands, specifically Orcas Island. This place is MAGICAL and we fell in love instantly. We are Brian and Crystal and 1 year ago we sold everything we owned (well, almost) to set out on the road as full-time vanlifers. I enjoyed your enjoyment of (Moran)State Park,( pronounced,""more-Ann""')and other natural environment that make. Orcas Island so beautiful. I know every step, turn and tree you showed.. This is my home. There are , indeed, nature sprits('fairies') there. One especial, Deva, the Angel of Mt. constitution, who over-lights the entire archipelago. Request... buy a couple travel mugs and take them to buy your hots drinks, please. So much waste using disposable cups, lids, insulators. Thanks for the beauty, well done!

Love Orcas Island and miss visiting. It's such a load off when you arrive and pull off the ferry. I tent camped at Moran a bunch and later started staying at the North Beach Inn cabins several times over the years (great place to stay right on the beach). Thanks for sharing your trip there. New subscriber - just found you today, so I'm binging all of your vids. :)

That spectacular tower atop Mt. Constitution is designed after the fire lookout towers in Caucaus Mountains of EuropeAsia. It was built. by CCC of depression era, under Prez Roosevelt's program who also planted millions of trees across USA and the big log shelters still in use at Moran Park and other park of the west USA. ...Our mountain top tower was lovingly restored a few years ago by local builder, historian, Rolf Eriksen and company.

Was that last hike on Turtle Mt.? In the summer you won’t get away with parking curbside is Eastsound, it is absolutely packed. Sorry you had a bad coffee experience, most of the restaurants are amazing. Even the grocery store is surprisingly inexpensive for an island with great produce, seafood, and meats.

We definitely visited in the off season so parking was very easy. We did enjoy a number of restaurants in Eastsound but that coffee, no bueno. I did however get good coffee at Brown Bear cafe over the weekend.

Yes but we wish we purchased a 3,000w inverter. The 2,000w inverter is just enough to operate our VitaMix.

We LOVE Orcas! May we ask - how is it living there? Do you find it difficult to get everything you need/want on the island?
