One of the biggest decisions when planning a van conversion, is choosing which base van to use. There are a few panel/cargo vans that are popular favourites and in this video we discuss what aspects you might want to consider when choosing between them.
We feel that the dimensions of the vehicles are an important factor to take into account, as in small space living every bit of space counts!
Of course many other factors such as cost and availability may also play a role. What factors are most important to you when choosing a vehicle to convert?

Thanks for the video. we want to sleep front to back so we don’t have to climb over one another. Also my hubby is 6 foot 2 so a Sprinter 170 LWB is our pick. Here in Canada the Ford Transit is gaining popularity for van conversions. What’s your opinion re gas vs Diesel ? 4x4, RWD or front wheel drive?

Thanks for the feedback! Yes probably a length ways bed and therefore a Sprinter would be best suited to you

Oli/Emily, what is the maximum width (and therefore bed length) that can be achieved in a Sprinter if using recesses, please? BTW, I fully intend to make use of your services in the near future - I have not seen any UK-based converter that has your unique combination of clear information, beautiful conversions, friendliness & professionalism. Well done you guys! 🚐

Hi Luke, aw thank you! We haven't done a Sprinter with a width ways bed - only long ways. I would imagine around 180cm with recesses in a Sprinter. In Boxers/relays/ducatos they are 180 without or 190 with recesses.

Any reason you did not cover Ford Transit, they seem to be getting very popular also?

They are narrower than the boxers/relays/ducatos and not as long as the Sprinters so we tend not to convert them as there is a bit less space but yes lots of people do
