Good job sharing this. It's amazing how R&D in RC design means sell a new product and let the customer find the flaws.

@djbuzzard Thanks. I have received a lot of positive and negative responses to this video. I started my channel to help the community make informed decisions on spending there hard earned money. I like my H10. The fact that this is an RTR and not a kit has made this issue not the apparent to most. Thanks for the positive response.

Been running my H10 and never noticed any binding while driving around. I get where you’re coming from but it doesn’t seem to be a real problem in real use.

I didn't notice it in my box stock video either. No one has mentioned this. That is because the servo is just powering through it. With that being said. I want the community to be aware that they are definitely flawed. So if someone goes to spend their hard earned money on a set, they know what they are getting. When these come out in aluminum, it won't power through it. It will definitely hang up.

Good info to be aware of. I would for sure be confused and frustrated if I ran into that on the trail.

The fix is their upcoming $159.99 machined housings. Vanquish has a history of not admitting errors.

All the reviews no one mentioned this at all, good job brother. An o ring would definitely have been nice, kinda surprised to see vanquish not catching that in the R&D phase.
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 Ай бұрын
Thanks. I tried the o ring trick. It didn't work. When you see the clip change in the video, i spent time trying to fix it with the last resort being to grind on the axle housing. The o-ring is also just a bandaid for the problem. I'm still in the process of the upgrade video. It's going to be an awesome rig. If it was a builders kit, I'm not the only one who would have caught this. I was rebuilding the diffs and greasing everything up when I found this issue.

Great video! Thanks for not only pointing out the problem but also providing a solution. The play in the pivot balls might be trickier to address. I wonder if custom links using the Vanquish machined rod ends could be made?
@hyperc5249

I'm hoping someone comes up with a set that has a little tighter tolerance to take the slop out.
@WasNiksIsNiksWordtNiks
@WasNiksIsNiksWordtNiks Ай бұрын
The play is mostly between the screw and the ball. The screws are usually between 2.9-2.95 and the hole size of the ball ens are 3.1+. Add all of the ball/ball ends and it will add up to some decent play.

Would a couple o-rings on the outer pivot balls (above/below rod end) on the steering link solve this issue without having to modifying the housing? Seems this fix diminished the resale value.
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 Ай бұрын
No. People keep saying that fixes it. I tried that. It doesn't work. That actually holds it in the position to bind up.
@HillbillyHermitRC
@HillbillyHermitRC Ай бұрын
@hyperc5249 That's very interesting. Maybe the best fix would be to make some threaded links to replace the plastic stock links on either side of the central "ram". That way, you can fine-tune the angle that the center link rides. All issues that should have been corrected before the release for purchase.

Hola amigo. Puede ser un fallo esporádico ? Esperemos que no tengan todos ese fallo.

Does it catch while under servo power or only when you turn it by hand from the steering knuckle?
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 Ай бұрын
The way it looks to me the servo powers through it and only at an incline. I did not notice it on my box stock review and run. For this kind of money I expected Vanquish quality. I'm receiving a lot of flack about this. But it's not a good design, and neither is the powdered metal diffs. Vanquish seems to be trading high-quality kits for cheaper RTR to satisfy the masses.
@jeff2633
@jeff2633 Ай бұрын
@@hyperc5249 Not sure they are really trading anything they still make the Vanquish parts they're known for, but now offer a more affordable starter level option. There is a big cost difference from their kits. I don't have any of their RTRs so can't/won't argue with your opinions but there's always hope for the Ripper 2 being more like what you expect?
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 Ай бұрын
@jeff2633 Yes, it's definitely coming. Their kits are awesome. I understand the concept of RTRs. But why settle when you are at the top. Vanquish got to where they are by making absolutely amazing kits that were $800. I will still gladly buy a high-end kit. I just hate to see what seems like a rushed final product that has these kinds of issues. The powdered metal diffs are definitely a trade-off vs. Value. I still like Vanquish. I actually have 3 other Vanquish builds coming soon.

I didn't notice it running box stock either. But when I went to upgrade it is when I noticed it. I'm not the only one. I have been contacted by multiple others having the same issue. The servo is just powering through it. That doesn't mean that it's not a design flaw. I still like my H10 and have a sweet upgrade video coming soon.
@jacmac0422
@jacmac0422 13 күн бұрын
Honestly I think you are doing Vanquish a disservice with this video. I understand how this could be a design flaw but its only an issue when the servo is disconnected. When the servo is hooked up it keeps the shaft from rotating. When driving complete non-issue.
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 13 күн бұрын
@jacmac0422 Unfortunately, that is not true. The servo being installed has nothing to do with pivot of the front links. If you watch my channel, I did some massive upgrades to my H10 and it's an awesome rig. Pointing out problems with RCs is not a disservice. Especially for the consumer that saves up their money to purchase something. Informing people with facts is just being honest. People opinions on that fact are the true disservice. Thanks for watching.

I purchased one yesterday Bone stock I can twist mine as much as it I want it does not hang up anywhere so either they fixed it I have one good copy and you don't or it only happens when the servo's disconnected but I feel like you're detering people from buying this product when I can't replicate it that doesn't seem right to me let me know if you'd like a video of mine

All this crying over something that could have been fixed with one oring. The actually bad part about that rack is when sand and shit get in there and it binds up.
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 Ай бұрын
This is just an informational video for the community to understand the flaws in these axles. When I buy Vanquish products, I expect Vanquish quality. Not rotating interference and binding. If someone spends their hard earned money on a set of axles, you would expect them to function properly. Especially from Vanquish. Powdered metal and binding in the steering are disappointing from the H10 Optic. I have lots of vanquish products, and I have not had to cheaply modify them to get them to function properly. Thanks for watching.

How is an o'ring supposed to fix this issue ? Please explain what you have in mind.
@hyperc5249
@hyperc5249 21 күн бұрын
They think if you put in o-ring around the ball joint of the steering link it will solve the problem. I tried it before I shaved the axle. It doesn't work. It actually holds it into place where it binds up. If these were aluminum the servo wouldn't power it through the bind and it would lock up. So removing the material is the only permanent fix.
