I had my N2 Pro for a year now. I bought this one because of the great reviews on KZfaq, Video and sound quality are good. What I don't like about this Dash Cam is you can't count on it to record. The loop doesn't seem to work so when the card fills up it stops recording and yes this feature is tuned on. The other thing is it can't seem to keep the right time and date. It always seems to be off every time I check on it. I have done the firmware update but it didn't seem to help. After spending $200 i am very unhappy.

I bought one of these cameras over a year ago for rideshare and it still functions today. I just purchased the hardwire set along with GPS suction mount. Now I can free up a power outlet and have GPS functions (that is if it works)!

I am sure glad you mentioned the front lens sticks out. I had a N2 Pro and the suction cup let go. If fell and hit the front lens... The N2 Pro is no more because I couldn't get Vantrue's customer service to even respond to my emails about sourcing a new front lens. I hope you never need any real service from them.

You did not allude to updating beyond saying latest firmware was up to date, it would have been advantageous if you had spoken about the update process, I think it would have finished your excellent review off to a tee. I use this camera on my semi, I put a 256 card on mind and formatted it with the given procedure to fat 32.

Can this record conversations from inside the car, while it records sounds from other areas or outside, such as sirens? Also, if you turn the video screen off from showing inside your car, does it still record, or does it shut off? Thank for any info.

i cant speak on the performance yet but after receiving it today and trying to navigate the awful instruction manual as well as the web site its a big let down, it says to keep the firmware up to date with no instructions in the box or web site on how to do that.

I am thinking of buying this dash cam & was hoping to find out if you can make out license plates in day & night modes. I did not see much in your drive tests. There are a lot of crazy drivers where I live and want to be able to record reckless driving, getting cut off & tailgaters & get licenses in front of me & behind me. Will this dash cam work for this? Very bad. You show the obvious but you don't explain how to work within the various menus. i.e. "plate" how do you add the information?

I just install this unit today but it turns OFF when i leave the car,might be something on settings cause is hard wired to the OBD2.
