I installed a heat shield cover over my fuel lines in Hope of curing my vapor locking problem. Find out if my $20 investment works.

Gracias por explicar muy claro , lo pondré en práctica

Run a fuel return line so the fuel wont sit in the line. Instead the unused fuel will return back to the tank to cool down. Hope this helps.

Did you adjust the emissivity of your temperature reader / gun?
@tobroke20073 жыл бұрын
It has no adjustment. But I have several thermometers and they all read about the same

So this was worth it after all? What were your before temps on the fuel hose?
@tobroke20073 жыл бұрын
Honestly not really I ended up running all brand new braided fuel lines and a return line to the tank as well as a electric fuel pump by Holley.

If you dont run all the way down, how can you get a proper vs

Sorry really not sure what your asking?

I tried this. Didn't do shit. Put a 1/2" wood spacer under my carb which kind of helped during hot starts, but once the temp started getting to like 100°F here in Arkansas my bronco is barely running, I drove it home the other day and it was running so lean it was missing and bucking just trying to get it on the highway. Couldn't see any liquid fuel in the fuel filter. About to try adding a regulator and return line back to the tank as that's apparently the best solution. I'm also still running a mechanical fuel pump though.

switch to an electric pump

@@jradish I actually ended up running a return line back to the tank, kind of rigged but the pump I had was putting out about 9 psi, so I was able to trickle some back to the tank using a t fitting with a fuel pressure gauge after it. In the t-fitting I put a bolt in it with a clamp around it so I could adjust the flow to get my PSI to around 5-6 to the carb. It worked pretty well with the mechanical pump. I ended up selling the truck like that though so I never went back and did it right. The project truck I have now is going to have an electric pump

@@jradish I have an electric "pusher" pump near the tank, running through the mechanical pump (Chevy 292) This is to prime the carb after sitting for a long time. Once the carb is full and the engine starts, I shut off the electric pump. Last fall, on a hot afternoon hauling a camper up hills, I had engine faltering and losing power, even quitting, which I'm now thinking was vapor lock. Running the electric pump didn't solve the problem, but cooler weather next morning did.

Just run that 100ft of hose behind the motor on right hand side of it to the carb. . That's way to much hose man.
@tobroke20075 жыл бұрын
Ya I ran that much to try to get it off the intake. I'm gonna run a new braided house behind the carb to a new fuel regulator on the fire wall to right hand side of carb. Just scares me running behind the carb close to the distributor. I actually ran it several ways but this one made me feel the safest till I order some stuff from summit more permanent.
@justinpeacock29375 жыл бұрын
@@tobroke2007 it will be fine ran back there. That distributor isnt going to bother anything

Measuring the outside temperature of the now-insulated fuel line won’t tell you much. The whole point of the insulation is to keep the inside cool and the heat out.
@timort22604 жыл бұрын
Why would the length of hose matter say you run 3ft more the stock or normal? And those mr gasket regulator are truly junk I have a fuel pressure gauge and wasnt even close to the adjustments. Holley has a cheap on that actually works ok at the same price range
@kevincornell14394 жыл бұрын
@@timort2260 more time to heat up the fuel before it gets to the carb.

Fucking bungee strap on the battery. Temp gauge, lol. Fuel lines all aver the engine. Fan not covering entire radiator, etc. Nice piece of shit.
