@@kykymarney what does the good grinder do that the 10 buck grinder from Amazon doesn't
@kykymarneyАй бұрын
@@frontiervirtcharter A good grinder grinds the beans consistently and evenly because of the burrs. High quality burrs will not just dice them up. You want them to all be the same size so you receive a balanced taste. If you look at the beans after a good grinder cuts them you can see the difference besides the taste. Also you don’t want the beans to get re roasted while you wait for grinder to cut them because a cheap motor will get too hot. Also the motor will last a longer time if it a quality because it doesn’t get too hot using it every day. In the quality grinder arena This is actually a cheap grinder. My titanium burr set alone cost $100 to upgrade on this machine. The best home grinders out there are around $750 Ie the Niche is one of the best but it is a lot bigger and louder but the Niche can grind the beans in about 7 seconds while the Varia grinds in about 40 secs. Based on all of this the grinder is actually more important than the machine. The machine matters, my is around 4K but if I had to choose on where I put my money the grinder is number1 after having fresh quality beans. I could make a butter cup with a crappy machine a great grinder than the opposite. Hope this helps.

What is lil bottle with liquid that you were spraying on coffee?
@loganmontgomery19553 ай бұрын
It’s water! It help reduce the static electricity inside the grinder and makes less coffee stick to the inside of it

I have the v2 and the motor is janky af. Moving on to the niche.
@thebrownbarista2 ай бұрын
yeah i just realized my grind setting moves occasionally while grinding 🙄
@kykymarneyАй бұрын
It’s not janky it is just slow for longevity. True the niche is really fast but it is huge and takes a lot of room. All depends on what you value most. I prefer the Olympia mocha. Fast and small but difficult to clean.
@SGspecial84Ай бұрын
@@kykymarney No, it actually is janky because the way it is designed means you can only use a very small DC motor, typical of an RC car. Thats why it sounds like a toy, because the motor is actually used for toys. A planetary gear box would fix everything for this grinder, but the way its designed won't allow for that.
@SGspecial84Ай бұрын
@@kykymarney Also curious, how do you find the Olympia for adjusting the grind size? I heard its difficult to get it dialed in for 58mm portafilters.
@kykymarneyАй бұрын
@@SGspecial84 agree based on the their design they have limitations but the sound is also quite compared to the niche. Sound is subjective btw. The niche is better based on quality but the definition of janky is something that is of poor quality or reliability and this doesn’t not apply here. It is just different to the more expensive options.
