But in interviews he seems so shy, humble and down-to-earth, he’s doesn’t consider himself a genius, he’s constantly surprised by his own fame and sheer amount of the support and love from his fans. Rebecca Elliott It’s interesting because I agree that they both bring so much to the table beside acting. However, I have to say I’m about a third through the conversation and it is not one of my favorite actors on actors. The discussion of their characters and the work the did on their respective films, ie the actual acting, is not particularly compelling or fascinating to me. I’d much rather listen to someone like Cate or Viola who will delve a lot deeper and discuss the craft of acting in a much more sophisticated way. Listening to these two talk about music though is another story entirely. 👍🏾

17:30 "It's almost like you have to break into song, and you have to break into song in that moment because you can't say it simply with words." THANK YOU LADY GAGA FOR PUTTING IT INTO WORDS. This is why musical theatre should be taken just as seriously as regular theatre or cinema, and not just relocated to "kidsy tripe" like so many people are wont to do. It's deep and emotional. Just because it isn't hyper-realistic doesn't mean it isn't true, in the acting sense. I love this so much, I can't fully describe how happy I am.

A VERY interesting and insightful session!a Always assumed that Lin-Manuel and Lady Gaga are from two completely different worlds, but it seems both of them have many things in common actually! Thanks for bringing the pair together - that's a real stroke of genius! Looking forward to the birth of a future Broadway musical collaboration(s) between the two of them, and hopefully, starring and headlined by both of them as well...

Are Lin and Gaga going to a write a musical called “Circle in the Square”? Only time will tell.

Lol, Circle In the Square is a theatre on Broadway. I haven't gotten to that part yet 😂

@@stanconnorstan4266 "Circle In the Square" is also a theatre conservatory. I am sure Lady Gaga got alot of her actor training from Alan Langdon.

I just watched Lin get his star on the Hollywood walk of fame, live streamed on Variety. He's such a humble, down to earth guy and to watch him fan boy over Weird Al was the best!

Gaga is a legend already. But... her acting skills aren't comparable to other Oscar winners. Maybe if she could take lessons and work on that more. But for the present moment I don't see that Oscar coming.

I love her look. She doesn’t look like all the other pop stars or young “starlets” that look like they came out of the same mold. She is beautiful in such and odd way and I mean that as a compliment. I haven’t followed her career but I think I need to pay more attention. I’ve been following Miranda for a long time, he seems like such a genuine guy. Loved this.

“The way I work as an actress is I have my deck of cards... and you take that deck of cards that has that information [from your own life], trauma, alcoholic relationships, codependency, family dynamics... and you pull from that deck of cards, and there’s a sorcery that happens when you’re off camera, and then as soon as you get on stage, or on set, and you start to film, you sort of throw that out the window but you know that the alchemy will still be there and be with you.” - Lady Gaga. Yes, this is so true. Beautifully worded.

50:00 "In the dream workshop that I did with Elizabeth Kemp, I'll never forget it; I was laying on the floor, she said, 'I want you to go back, in your mind, and in your heart, in your body, and I want you to go back to a time in your life where life blasted you so hard, that you can't remember who you were before it happened'. It just made me sob. I was laying on the floor, and I was sobbing... and that's what built the trust."
