Personally, I love that Childe starts getting recognition. He is the earliest example of Hoyo team going above and beyond on creating a character. In early interview, one of the character designer/rigger said that he is the most complex character they created and to gave example, they goes into alot of detail on just how to make the man's scarf flows correctly in his skills. Add that to having two burst etc, you will be surprised that he was not the fave child

In abyss Childe always sits in the top 15-25, with his usage rate being 30% on average. Most 5 star DPS characters had ups and down in their usage but childe remains consistent. Additional fact, his international team is the most used team for most of abyss runs and never fell below 3rd position.

Without a doubt childe is hoyo's favorite son (ayaka being fave daughter) Hoyo treats childe the same way Kishimoto treats sasuke. They build a character that is integral to the main story, give him a backstory that makes him wanna get stronger, give him abilities that can rival the MC, win some huge battles, lose some major battles and get one-sided defeated by an opponent stronger than him. At the end of the struggle, they make a character that is beloved by many regardless of his reputation Its been like 3 yrs and even w/ the release of neuvillette, he is still meta with his international comp. He is basically a character that hoyo took time and effort to a be a worth it character whether be F2P or whale Even CN players call him the golden boy and ayaka being the diamond princess of hoyo. Although people might disagree because its always the waifus, ya'll forget that hoyo does that to appease those players but they always have their favorites and would find time to put them in the spotlight multiple times

"You always come crawling right back to him" is so true. He was my first limited 5*. I used him a lot, then switched to other characters. Then I have constantly came back to using him, and remembering how much fun he is gameplay and personality-wise.

He was my 1st limited 5 star and even though i have other dps characters now like Ayato, Alhaitham, and Neuvillette, I always seem to stick to him as my main dps for my story team and one of my abyss team.

childes kit had a lot of nuance considering the time he came out in and his kit was pretty well suited for dendro compared to other year one 5 stars. He also got a new sig weapon later on and some of they new artifacts are also quite good on him . Overall his kit is still somewhat unique and is great for driving reactions while dealing decent damage himself

just a quick little correction, the childe national team before kazuha wasn't as much "inefficient" as it was just cringe to play, the team was still one of the best but double swirling with sucrose was less reliable compared to kazuha, basically what i mean is kazuha didn't make the team, he just made it easier to play more than anything.

Childe is literally one of my characters that just brute forces me to play him. First, I got him, then I got his c1 and when i just for memes pulled weapon banner with polar star right after getting c1, banner threw this bow in my face after 20 pulls. I'm rebuilding him with this nymph hydro set right now, and even with shit 2+2 artifacts he deals solid damage. And I love his personality, his appearence in main story always leaves an impression (and his own story left me crying, like literally)

I feel like the answer to these is inevitably: 1) Dendro happened 2) Hydro is OP

It's just insane that his team stayed a meta team since 1.1 and till now it's one of the best f2p teams out there and the second most used team in abyss

After my 2 years of genshin, I wished and got him on 4.0 banner because I saw his meta capabilities is improving even in the latest version. He is still worth the primogems despite other hydro dps.

Childe Hyperbloom is like my favorite team comp. National is great too. I have picked up a copy or 2 of him on each rerun and finally got him C6 in 4.0. :D

Pop Tart, Yae, Nahida and Kuki helped me a lot through the early days of Sumeru.I've had him since his first banner, and while I've used him on and off again, dendro really helped raise his stocks if you ask me.

Childe was my first limited 5* and I still use International team pratically every abyss rotation. It's just too good at everything.

Not only he is a good character to play, albeit a bit tricky to learn- he also manages to stay relevant in the lore too, which i think also helps his popularity- While there was basically a drought of content during the sumeru 3.x patch, we are having a resurgence with him being a somewhat prominent "hidden catalyst of events" in 4.x Basically he is appealing not only to the players who focus on the gameplay, numbers and playability; but also to the ones who like to explore the world and its lore

i dont understand either why ppl sleep on him. he's one of the best hydro driver of the international. he shines mostly in multy target battles, but that doesnt mean he cant do his job against bosses either. i accidentally pulled him in 1.1, and started using him when i accidentally pulled his weapon too, and oh boy wish i used him earlier

childe main here! i've had childe since his first rerun and i've totally fallen in love with his versatility first and foremost, especially in the overworld. he's practically the only unit in the game that can work well in both close and long ranges. aside from international, he's worked for me in charge teams, hyperbloom teams, and even freeze teams (though that last one was definitely a stretch--i think it was for an event and i was getting desperate). with the way i have him built, he can even dish out a decent amount of physical and charged attack damage. even though i have other insane units who can easily outscale his numbers, there's just no other character in this game who can do it ALL the way that childe can. people harp on his kit for being too complicated, but he's actually a really convenient all around damage dealer once you get used to him (tho i will say that my opinion is probably skewed--i have him at c2 lol) he's not my first choice for everything, but he's still probably my most consistently used character. he fills in suprisingly well for a hydro support, too (which i should know since yelan snubbed me twice before finally coming home on her 3rd run. pain.)

I fucking love Childe, i used him to clear this abyss and his hydro application just allows him to always be used in a team that needs hydro application. Hes amazing and was my first double 5 star pull in 1.1

By far the one of the most special characters, AoE coverage thanks to Riptide, 2 different burst nuke, stance mode that can be stop freely, the only passive that level up a talent by 1, his extremely unique like no other even as the bottom ranking harbinger he still a real game changer.

Another buff Childe got that wasn't mentioned in this video was the Nymph's Dream set which is much better for him then Heart of Depth. Heart of Depth only buffs his Normal and Charge attacks, Nymph's Dream gives him more Hydro damage and ATK for doing Normal, Charge, Elemental skill and Burst. Which Childe does everything in his kit besides Normal and Charge attacks.

I still stand by the fact that Childe is Hoyo's magnum opus when it comes to designed characters. Along with Alhaitham, Hu Tao and Neuvi, not even talking about damage, but just how rewarding their kits feel to play. Childe's highly rewarding vape damage comes at the cost of a long cooldown if you stay on his blades for too long. Meaning you're going to have to pay attention and rotate correctly and efficiently and make the most of them. Hu Tao's damage bonus when she's near death is a great risk-reward factor and encourages you to either bring a shield or dodge correctly. Alhaitham encourages you to sort of think like him in the middle of combat, balancing the timings of the Prisms you can get with his skill and his charge attack and try and keep those 3 shards so you can unleash his burst. Neuvi goes without say.

What bothers me when it comes to Tartaglia would be about the reputations of his team comps. It's hard to imagine, but I'll vaguely try put it this way: I'd imagine there's a standard for "power" on teams in Genshin to be considered Abyss viable or comfortable to play, let's put 100% "power" as that standard. Tartaglia's fireworks comp would be around 75-85% power, freeze comp at around 60-75% power, hyperbloom at 80-100% power. While Internasional is around a whopping 150-300% power (at least on the abyss viable part), while most overworld contents at hardest only need 50-80% power. Not the best examples, I know, but the point is his Internasional team is so good that even if his others teams are "viable" by themselves, they don't compare to International. He CAN work on other teams, it's just that Spiral Abyss is a content with damage sponges and time limits, where International is most demanded. I'd try to never use International unless such challenge or level is to be cleared, I didn't even knew about said team because I was busy trying to replicate his delusion form

My new favourite on fielder/dps now is nuvilette. Childe is 2nd now.

As a guy who mained childe for 2 yrs i can confirm this

He was my first ever 5 star, so he has a special place in my heart. Him, Fischl and Sucrose carried me through the early to mid game in their backs lol I even got his C1 and signature eventually. He was benched for almost a year, after I got Hutao, Shogun and other carries, but recently I'm using Childe National in almost every abyss cicle. Can't wait to see more of him in Fontaine.

8:32 Well, Childe, Thoma, Traveller, Sucrose is not the most commonly used Childe burgeon team. His much better one is intergrassional (Childe, Bennett, Nahida, Kazuha) and it slaps Edit: Oh also, how can we forget that he also got a new artifact set at the end of 3.x (Nymphs Dream) that nobody but him is suited for, but its his bis? He keeps getting buffed lol

Cleared every single abyss with childe since the day I got 36stars. Only used international 3 patch cycles. Now running the most broken c3 childe, c2 nahida, lost paradise kuki hyperbloom team. Everything die faster than international.

Furina, neuvillette, yelan or ayato can keep rerunning all they want. I'm never going to stop being loyal to my boy, I don't care what anyone thinks about him. I'm a comrade through and through... All my primogems and resources are going for him, cause no other character is as fun to me. And I wouldn't have it any other way :)

my favorite thing about Childe is that he is super versatile as a hydro dps driver, he does everything you want from hydro by himself so you can use any other characters. the only thing i hate is that his best team being international sucks to use in overworld exploration lmao.

The rant at 6:30 killed me. XD As someone who dislikes both characters equally, exactly this. Especially after both of their character quests. Childe's felt like contrived comedy, while Raiden's was strange at best. @.@

As the first 5* I ever went for, and my fab char to play, I am SO HAPPY to see his a resurgence!! I'm glad people are starting to give him more attention, he deserves it

I immediately fell inlove with Childe's playstyle in 1.1 and I will always be grateful for him! He has carried me these past 3 years and has also taught me a valuable lesson of rotation & timing management. It really helped that I was new when I got him since rotations pretty much became 2nd nature to me after playing him.

3 damn years and still no balance patches. Like damn. They charge hundreds of $$$ for each character just to leave them in the dust to rott and release straight up better/stronger versions of them later down the line. Hate how greedy Hoyo is when it comes to this. I know rebalancing doesnt make them insta cash like new characters, but still....

Tartaglia will continue to be the best hydro character on-field and i'm sure this never gonna change, international is simply the beast team in the game in every situation at low and high investment🗿

This video reminded me of why I started playing Genshin in the first place, which was to have Childe on my account. I started playing around Kokomi's first banner and when I heard that Childe was expected to rerun after her, I grinded every primogem my F2P AR 15 self could get his hands on in order to wish on his banner. Unfortunately I ended up losing my 50/50 to Mona (who has been stuck in level 50 prison as punishment) and I quit playing until 2.8 for Kazuha. I then saved for his 3rd rerun to which I finally got him and I've been proudly using him ever since. He's one of my favorite characters and I'm glad he's still meta after all these years :D

I wish people played intergrassional (international but replace xiangling with Nahida) more often. It’s my favorite team in the whole game

I love Childe, I don't really perceive him as evil, he wants a good fight all the time, and the best way to do it is to well, be the villain. That, and he doesn't really try to go all out into torturing innocent people like some of his colleagues.

Good to see someone enjoying Childe. I've enjoyed him since the beginning, going form C1 at his release to C6 on his rerun, It's funny to me how people skipped Kazuha. I C6'd Kazuha on his release because I knew he was going to be broken. I still use Childe a lot to this day, whenever my Geodudes (Itto, Zhongli, Gorou, Albedo/Bennett/Mona) can't get the job done and he always holds up.

I love playing International. All the characters synergize so well and it works great in both AoE and ST. Even when you get a chamber with a bunch of Hydro enemies Bennett/XL/Kazuha are there, if it's Pyro shields then Childe/Kazuha deal with it. Everything else just melts (or is vaporized XD). Kazuha and Childe are 2 of my favorites story/design wise. I started in 1.5 so I got Kazuha first and then Childe on his rerun in 2.2, mostly just because I like their deigns the Meta stuff was a happy accident XD

Childe international and Nahida hyperbloom, thats my spiral abyss teams without thinking too much. They get the job done. I don't need to think and build other teams as long as they are still meta lol.

I got him on his first rerun in 1.4, soon after got my first 36* and I've been clearing every single abyss with no exception since then using him, international can deal with absolutely everything, doesn't matter how many enemies, doesn't matter what shield they have, doesn't matter how many waves, doesn't matter if its a boss, this team just doesn't care and beats up everything

I would like to say that Polar Star isn't necessarily a buff for Childe. A lot of the 5* bows in the game has Crit main stat and it depends on the artifacts of the user's Childe. Childe is sssuuupppeeerrrr F2P friendly and thus, has a lot of great weapon options where many of the weapons give similar DPS outputs. For i.e. my Childe has 79:206 crit stat with well above 2k ATK which has been possible thanks to Skyard Harp. This couldn't have been possible for me with Polar Star. So yeah, his best weapon option depends on his artifacts really.

I'm still impressed how his kit is still the only stance changing character in the game.

The neat thing about teams with high hydro and pyro damage is they with pretty much every element shield. It really only can’t deal with geo shields so there’s not much that can’t be dealt with

I got Childe by "accident". When I first started playing I didnt know about soft pity. I tried a lot to get Klee but I eventually stopped and decided I will get Zhongli instead. I was away from the 90 pity and if you dont include pity Genshin rates are worse than FGO so needing to reach pity is the norm. Diona was on his banenr and I thought of doing a few pulls to get her, but soft pity kicked in. I was pretty happy and things turned out for the better, I would rather have Childe than Klee on my account.

Ah, good ol' Childe, a mainstay in my team ever since I F'd up and pulled on his banner for pity while trying to prepare for Zhongli... Fast forward, like, 40 pulls and I had a C2 Childe and a C0 Qiqi... Let this be a lesson, don't pull unless you're accepting the 5-star. I've learned my lesson... Plus side, fast-forward to now and despite being F2P I have a C4 Childe, so... luck do be a lady sometimes.

Just love everything about this character. From his Riptide, Weapon selection, being Fatui, Childe and Lumine Ships, Voice actor, Storyline, There is nothing to hate on this character. My First 5-star character and never regretted, IF you play as Lumine you will definitely feel the Childe Lumine Ships in their conversation 😅. From saving Lumine in Liyue / Introducing his brother to Lumine / Fighting battles / Giving his Vision to Lumine in fontaine definitely feels like an excuse to meet again. And I'm sure there is more to come and we might see them battle side by side in future 😅😅

Honestly as long as Xiangling remains the only viable pyro subdps i dont think hes gonna stretch much beyond international.. bloom teams can still be explore though but likely not gonna be as strong as the old childe benny xl kaz..

I watched this video out of pure curiosity. It's been literally years since I dropped Genshin; as far back as not long after the Albedo release iirc. You have no idea how funny this video is to me, because I'm probably one of the few day 1 players who went for Childe because I liked him way more than any other other units of the time or upcoming, including Zhongli and Raiden (I hated them both actually). That Childe/Benny/Xiangling/Sucrose team was exactly what I was using as my go-to main team back then and it's what would greet me where I ever to go back to Genshin lmao

Then in sumeru from nowhere, we also get Childe's artifact set

5:32 Vape is absolutely not a byproduct of this team, it was made specifically because of OverVape and the unique properties of the Electrocharged reaction, Raiden’s personal damage in this team and her buffs to her other party members are certainly a factor but it’s not the only reason or even the main reason that this team is viable, why would Xingqiu be there if not specifically to make vaporises? If it’s for the damage then why isn’t Yelan the most used Hydro character in this team when she has higher burst damage? It’s because Xingqiu has higher Hydro application with his Rain Swords providing consistent hydro application around the active character And partially because National is designed to be the most effective team using the least 5*s but that’s not the main factor here as even whales don’t use Yelan in this team

I got him during his 4.0 banner. I’m still figuring out how to use the international team properly, but once I figure it out I’ll be killing everything!

My pride as a Childe main has gone sky high. I wanted Childe ever since I joined the game after his first banner. I nabbed him, his weapon and his constellation on every rerun respectively since. Even in version 4 with highly anticipated hydros on the way (neuvilette and furina), Childe will always be a powerful option (a popular pick or not). How appropriate on him to get so much more attention now with his lore and character development with the current archon quest.

Although I love Tartaglia's gameplay and kit I have to admit I would love to see his constellations get buffed/changed, such as more of his cons enhancing his riptide effect and improving the uptime, application and damage of it.
