Next up for Top Rank Boxing, Southern California 140-pound standout Arnold Barboza Jr. wanted the main event spotlight. He’ll get his opportunity to shine when he takes on Puerto Rican contender Danielito “El Zorro” Zorrilla in a 10-round junior welterweight showdown Friday, July 15, at the Pechanga Summit at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.
Tokyo 2020 U.S. Olympic silver medalists Keyshawn Davis and Richard Torrez Jr. will return on the card, with Davis battling Jair “Kaiser” Valtierra in the eight-round lightweight co-feature. Torrez will open the televised broadcast in a six-round heavyweight special attraction versus Roberto Zavala Jr.
Barboza-Zorrilla, Davis-Valtierra and Torrez-Zavala will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Lomachenko is the most talented boxer who came out from Ukraine, no doubt about that. But with all due respect to him and even the Klitschko brothers, he is NOT the greatest Ukrainian boxer of all time. It's LOUIS KID KAPLAN who retired with a record of 121-22-16 with 27 KO's. Kaplan didn't enjoyed the achievements that his predecessors has but HIS RESUME IS A PROOF OF HIS GREATNESS. A short live World Featherweight Champion he had beaten elites like Babe Herman, Johnny Jadick, Billy Wallace, Joe Glick and Maurice Holtzer. He also had a very impressive record of 4 wins and 2 losses against Hall of Famers. He beat legends Billy Petrolle, Jackie Fields, Christopher Battalino, and Sammy Mandell and losses with Jimmy McLarnin and Cocoa Kid. Among Lomachenko's competition, the only one who had a (very little) chance of making it into the Hall is Orlando Salido who actually beat Lomachenko. While Kaplan beat 4 individual Hall of Famers.

I pray this man comes back to boxing.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 One of my favorite fighters to watch!! Absolute beautiful technical aggressive style while taking risks!! He shouldn’t be on the P4P list right now but wether you hate him or not we all know he’s a P4P guy on the list or not. Big salute to Lomachenko!!!

He last fought in December 2021 but I don’t think he comes back this year because of the war, and he probably hasn’t trained as much maybe he gets a fight against Haney in the United States this winter or next may. He’s the next man up after declining the kambosos fight

I want to see Loma fight devin Haney before he gets too old Edit: the fight is happening now but I feel like it’s already too late for Loma. He didn’t look good in his last fight and it wasn’t even vs a world champ or anything. I think Haney will win convincingly but maybe I’ll be wrong

Man, Lomachenko's so good. Gets cut, knows it, knows how judges score against the bleeding fighter, instantly kicks it into gear. Like, workrate spikes immediately after the head collision. Just a treasure to watch, always.

Loma is a fuckin machine. Love watching him get into rhythm, like when the prince used to get in his groove and start with that snake charmer movement. When loma starts cutting the angle just throw in the towel cuz someone’s getting hurt

Definitely some… but Duran’s infighting is so far ahead of anyone I’ve seen, next to maybe Iron Mike.

@@musicsdarkangel Duran was a better infighter than Mike. I'm specifically talking about all the little wrinkles and tricks - like when Loma uses his left shoulder to position his opponents head before sweeping across with a hook. Those are the types of things that Duran used to do + more

Am I the only one who notices that he way more often than not finishes rounds in or near his own corner forcing his opponent to make the longer walk across the ring and eating up seconds of rest time, and then is often first up off the stool and gets way up closer to the center of the ring. It's like his spacial awareness and control are vastly superior. I never hear any of the announcers mention it but I see it all the time in all his fights.

that's an accurate notice, fighting in clinch is one of the most underestimated aspects of modern day professional boxing, im glad that Loma is utilizing it more often

I remember seeing this and wondering if Loma was going to be able to deal with the massive difference in size and length. Then he just annihilated Nakatani, something Lopez couldn't do. I realized that he was injured when he fought Lopez, and that he also reinvented himself, becoming better than ever.

Не согласен с вашими рассуждениями совсем. В первую очередь бокс который демонстрирует Ломоченко, возможен исключительно и только благодаря хорошо развитому мозгу! Без этого мозга, не было бы не быстрых ног, не зорких глаз, тактики и стратегии вместе взятых, хотя допускаю, что последним занимается только его отец Папаченко. Второе, это чувство времени, Ломо его чувствует всеми фибрами своего организма, что тоже уникально в мире бокса, я ещё не видел такой точности не у кого из известных мне боксёров. Касаемо плотности удара с левой, тут я вообще не понимаю о чём вы, Ломоченко уже кучу народу положил этой рукой???! Посмотрите Его бой на Олимпиаде, ну или пересмотрите ещё раз! I remember lomachenko talking about following taller fighters back after they retract their punches. And he actually did it this fight it was beautiful to watch. Loma was actually still getting better. It was a shame what happened in Ukraine de railed his a career a bit. I hear he is coming back in October hopefully we see this lomachenko 🙏

Lomachenko is the most technically gifted modern day boxer today. The pinnacle of Soviet form and modality of fighting. 5'7' guy beating the crap out of a 6'ft long reach tough fighter and made it look easy. Nobody else is doing that in the sport besides Usyk and Beterbiev.

Bud Crawford has gone on a mean streak as of lately, I'd say him as well but that's about it. Eastern fighters are molded to cause maximum amount of damage with Soviet boxing style. It's technical aggression with maximum amount of punishment by use of the footwork technique called 'the pendulum".

Lomachenco is goat and everybody who ever doubted him is gonna learn when he comes back... Nobody can beat Loma and Loma is gonna make a crazy come back and beat up everyone's favorite fighter mark my words... U all will see he is the true champion and that wasn't an excuse that he had surgery on his shoulder... The kid deserves his respect and I have a great feeling he's gonna just take his respect

I'm gonna say it right now, if Loma comes in 100% against Haney then he beats him, reason why it went south against Teo is the shoulder and the power Teo can generate power, i don't want this to be misconstrued as excuses as i'm not here to make any Teo won it fair and square and he got the best timing he could ever hopped for thats why he ain't even interested in a rematch and never was, Loma was late stepping on the gas when he needed to and when he eventually did it was to late, now that Loma is back on his grind i know pillow hands haney ain't got the power or the technical advantage, its really gonna come down to aggression ... Haney is in for some problems IMO, i think Loma takes his belts and gets back on top before he retires, when Linares hit Haney he got noodle legs and was hugging it out just to get across the finish line for a UD, when Loma got dropped by Linares he got up and finished him ... Haney ain't got that inside him, never seen him have to fight his way out of aggression like that and that'll be the difference ... its gonna be a highly technical match up for sure though and I'll give each fighter their due when it comes to it but i believe Loma edges it if not surprises everyone with a masterful finish.
