Toilet paper roll trick - I saw this on someone's facebook - if you have a traditional vacuum and, like me, lost your attachments long ago, you can affix the toilet paper roll to the end of your hose and use it to clean out windowsills etc. Since it's carboard and flexible, it can even get in tighter spots than your hard plastic attachment would. :)

Since hand washing is vital a great solution is to reuse our large liquid laundry detergent dispenser. Fill with water and you have a way to wash your kiddos’ hands where sinks aren’t accessible. Overuse of hand sanitizer kills our good bacteria that protect us. Soap and water are safest and most effective.

Hi. I have a lot of beautiful calendars too that I save at the end of every year. I finally looked up uses for them and a couple of ideas are making your own gift bags. Fold, glue, punch a couple of holes for the handles and use leftover ribbon, thin rope or even yarn for the handles. Also use pretty calendars to make journal covers on those composition notepads my kids use for school or any plain sturdy note books.

Brittany, you have a unique brain that is always innovating. Yet your logical side is so strong and brings structure to every new idea. You are by far the best at coming up with videos that combine creativity with practicality. It’s really difficult to get this combo right. Other people on KZfaq either get too creative where their tips are not useful. Or they’re useful, but it’s obvious, boring stuff. An added bonus about your videos is that you’re always aware of the aesthetics. You don’t let aesthetics be the priority but you do understand its importance.

I take the end of a paper towel roll and duct tape it to the end of my hand vac with the long stick on. Then, I stick it down where the dryer mesh comes out. It will reach way down and suck up all the leftover lint. You can squish the paper roll and make it narrower. Your dryer will be more efficient & hotter.

One of the things I love that I have repurposed is the Larger 48 oz Skippy Peanut butter plastic jars (Sam's Club). I clean them out and remove the label, then use chalkboard label and use them for cookies, chocolate chips, snacks, nuts, powdered sugar, rice etc. Pretty much most dry goods and snacks work as they go stale in the original package once opened. These jars have extra wide mouth so you can fit your hand all the way in. Love these as it preserves the food longer and it is see through so you can see how much you have left.

Marie I do the same thing but with spaghetti/pasta sauce jars remove the label/glue with an abrasive scrub pad or just put it in the dishwasher and the label/glue usually comes off easily if I take it out straight when the dishes are done and its still steamy. I am a granny gal and I have been upcycling and repurposing things for more years than I care to mention. I learned this from my mother who lived through the Great Depression and WW2. She was ingenious when it came to repurposing just about any item. For instance, she could not afford a bassinet when my siblings and I were born so she used an old dresser drawer lined with quilts for us. I have used everything you mentioned in your video at one time or another. One item that I use is the little plastic container in which mushrooms are packaged. These little things are great for organizing office and kitchen and bathroom drawers. I use a lot of mushrooms so I have a ton of them throughout my house for organizing a plethora of small to medium items. Deli containers from the grocery store are also reusable as pantry organizers for things such as dried fruits and baking morsels and nuts. I love your channel and always look forward to your new videos. You are quite an inspiration to so many young women, but we older ladies can learn from you as well. I wish you had been around when I was in my 20s and 30s, but, alas, you were not born yet and there was no internet! LOL!

I have a large one that I covered with contact paper and use the outside to hold headbands, and the inside to hold scrunchies and hair clips. I use a smaller one to hold change, just slit a hole in the top with a knife to be able to easily drop your change in. Those gum containers also work good for keeping bobbie pins in your purse or while traveling. You can also make them into really small first aid kits with a few band aids, and alcohol wipes. Thank you so much, Brittany! These are genius. I'm already using old towels and wash cloths as cleaning rags. I stick to white linens so everything is easy to match, bleach and re-use. I repurposed thin, white, kitchen towels ("flower sack" towels) that I originally bought for the kitchen to dry my hands in the bathroom. These towels are super absorbent and they dry FAST (much faster than terrycloth) which leaves me with a dry towel for each use and cuts down on any mustiness in the bathroom. I use wooden clothes pins to close chip bags and frozen food bags, too. My current, best hack: I discovered that my favorite nuts come in a tall jar that is the perfect size/shape to fit in a standard wine rack. After they're empty I wash them, label the lids, and lay them down in a wine rack with the labeled lid facing out. These are PERFECT for hardware odds and ends like nails, screws, small Allen wrenches, drill bits, etc. Now I look at all the containers I frequently buy with a new eye: how can I reuse this item?

Would you please tell me how you bleach your white linens. I have not had success with that. Do you use bleach each time you wash? Maybe I waited until stains were too set in, as the bleach did not seem to work. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I was fixing to order some drawer dividers from amazon but I have amazon boxes . My husband usually burns them as we live in a rural area but because of the pandemic there is a burn ban so I will put them to good use . 👍

Thank you for bringing up a sweet memory: back in the 1950's my grandmother owned a cafe and sold individual cigars to her patrons. She kept those lovely, sturdy cigar boxes as catch-alls for receipts, jotted down recipe ideas, or the match books she collected on vacations, etc. I can't stand cigar smoke, but the boxes always smelled nice, too -- like incense. Ha!

I save my receipts in a monthly business size envelope with month and year on the flap. Writing down the amount and store lets me see where and how much I spent. I am on a fixed income so has helped to reduce needless spending.

it's Das! Try soaking them in a bucket of white vinegar overnight, then popping them in the dishwasher! I would guess if you don’t have a dishwasher just washing them in hot water by hand after the soaking could work as well!

Hi! OMG YOU ARE MY TWIN! My husband says I never throw ANYTHING AWAY! I use the Starburst gum plastic containers to hold my phone ear buds, change, safety pins... I made a beautiful faux wrought iron mirror using a plastic surrounded one from the dollar tree and breaking the plastic off it. Then I glued the toilet paper rolls in small pieces in a flower design around the mirror and spray painted it black. ! The card fronts can be used to paste on construction paper for kids to make their own cards. Also can be cut around an object on the card to use as gift tags! AFTER watching this video and my mind being blown that you reuse all of these, I instantly subscribed to your channel... I have a million of these home hacks!

I use an empty coffee can to put dryer lint in. It's small enough to leave right by my dryer so every time I switch loads I can just pop out the lint filter, entry it into to coffee can and Bam. No trips back and forth from laundry room to kitchen just to toss lint. *As an added bonus, by keeping my lint in the can, it makes it easier for me to collect for those spur of the moment camping trips as lint is the PERFECT fire starter 💚😅

That's a great hack about the half toilet roll and grommet curtains. I've been needing that! Another hack with toothpaste is to cut it open when the tube is done. There's usually enough left for a few more brushings. I use the binder clip to close it up and keep the toothpaste fresh until it's all gone. I learned about this from watching Extreme Cheapskates. Most of the other things they do I don't recommend but this has been a handy hack.

I clicked Alfredo jars and use them for gifting I peel the label off put in the dishwasher then spray with peroxide to get the rest of the sticky residue off then wipe after soaking for 5 minutes and to decorate them afterwards I either use peel and stick stickers for kids or bows out of ribbon funny fact I'm dyslexic and can't tie a bow then I put candy or whatever in them that I had from Christmas calendars that we didn't eat or Halloween candy LOL my family loves it this year we did flower pens for Mother's Day and use the jars for the pots just stick the flower pens in

I save all the gum containers too!!! I have so many. I have two for toothpicks. One for work and one for home. I use them also for all my misc ribbon and use the area the gum pours out of to have the ribbon sticking out to make it easy to see the colors and pull out. Use little squares of velcro and attach to a couple of shelves in a craft room office. It's a game changer!!! Oh, and labeled. 😃

Brittany is such a breath of fresh air. I just smiled while listening to her. I really enjoyed hearing so many new ways to reuse so many items that I do already have. So helpful, so creative, & definitely very good for our environment. I especially liked where she showed using cut cardboard pieces wrapped in duck tape as dividers for drawers. Then when she placed the dividers diagonally, that was a great way to see everything in the drawer much better. I don’t think I would’ve thought to place them that way.
