Fun fact: Sean almost didn't play on AIC's first album, due to a broken hand. He decided to tough it out and record with his broken hand anyways, because he knew it wouldn't sound the same if they had someone else play it.

This is a drummer who MADE the song. On a completely different level than someone who just keeps the tempo. I love you, Sean!

It's fun to listen to some AiC demos and realize just how much Kinney dialed back the complexity and speed of his playing to match the band's emerging vibe and not outshine the vocals and guitar. Another heavy rock drummer, John Bonham, did the same thing with his band Led Zeppelin.

All goofing aside, I’ve been on the Vater 7a’s for a few years now and they’re awesome. I’ve noticed Vaters tend to run a tiiiiny bit heavier than other brands so I downsized to their 7s and they’re really durable sticks, man. I used to plow through Vics like it was my purpose in life but the Vaters just seem to handle more and splinter less...

Honestly Sean has the looks of a movie action figure. Also lay back and quiet. Wonder if he was ever approached to take on a role like that.

Wish I could have seen AiC with Layne. I saw so many awesome bands back in the 90's -- Stone Temple Pilots, Type O Negative, Pantera, Faith No More, etc. just never came across AiC.
