Flos Campi and I have a particularly long and numinous relationship going back to my days as an adolescent with a deep-seated and torrid crush, not on any of my fellow highschoolers, but rather on classical music, itself (a somewhat solitary pursuit at that age in our cultural wasteland of a town)! And yet, the strange and languorous winding melodies full of ominous desire never fail to bring me straight back to those balmy summer evenings exploring the surrounding woodland bathed in pink and golden twilight - the perfect combination of setting and soundtrack for inspiring a young writer’s creative fancy, filling countless pages with otherworldly tales of beautiful yet dangerous witches inhabiting the arboreal environs, trooping brigades of wee folk patrolling the hills, and enigmatic wandering bards and goliards singing strange tunes of ethereal origin. This piece will always be a nostalgic evocation of the magick of childhood for me - a veritable polaroid of a simpler time in life that we all crave now and again…and damn if Vaughan Williams doesn’t just hit the spot!

In which case, I recommend Lavondyss by the author Robert Holdstock, if you haven't already come across it that is. It's a mystical fantasy in which a minor character called Mr Williams appears. He's a composer so no prize for guessing who he's supposed to be......I think, from what you've said in your reply, that you would enjoy it immensely.
