In Japan for Valentine's day, young women are pressured to give chocolates to male coworkers to avoid offending them. The name for this chocolate is Giri choco, or obligation choco. This song is Gimi Choco. It was released for Valentine's day, and the girls aren't giving away chocolate, they're eating it. It's a statement for equality, and that's how you get a metal song called Gimmechocolate. Interestingly by the late 2010s the movement to ban giri choco took hold, and many companies ban it now.

The style is called Kawaii Metal. Kawaii is the Japanese word for cute. The idea is to combine Metal with J Pop. It is similar to 80s American Pop Meral and Glam Metal, which was more commercially accessible Metal. These types of Metal could get Radio and MTV access where heavier styles of Metal wouldn't get played.

Kawaii means cute (as in adorable, sweet), or you could say the genre is BABYMETAL since they are the only ones who do what they do (others have tried, none came close). It is a fusion of Metal with JPop aesthetics, hooks and melodies, nobody had tried it before, so they are both original and unique. Ayo I got some more Japanese metal for you. The band is called Maximum the Hormone. I got hip to them watching an anime called Death note. They had songs for the intro and outro of the show. The songs in question are "What up people" and "Zetsubou Billy"

Its the genrr that they created kawaii metal. More or less cute metal. But the move the same crowds nowadays withe the sane song. Since the theme of the song id that they want dome chocolate but they don't want to gain weight. But you wouldn't call them kids anymor. Their main vocaöist is now 27. In 2018 Yui left the band and she is now replaced by 20 year old Momoko.

Ok, I'm a little late to this reaction, but I'm going to say a couple of things right off the bat. First, they ARE kids. as mentioned the main vocalist, Su-Metal was only 16... barely. She had just turned 16 like day before I belive it was. The 2 dancers were 14. When they STARTED Babymetal, the singer was 14 and the 2 dancers were 12. So yes they were just kids. When the concept was introduced they were even younger. So no fighting needs to go on. If people are fighting about this, then they don't know what is going on. Second thing is the song is just as it sounds. It's about girls wanting chocolate but fearful of what it will do to their figure, but in the end they want the chocolate anyhow. It's just a simple song that is meant to be fun and silly. I saw somebody talking about it being about valentines day and women giving men chocolate. I don't think that is what this song is portraying. I'm pretty sure this one is just a fun song for everybody talking about girls wanting chocolate but scared it will make them fat.

Welcome to Kawaii Metal or literally "Cute" metal. After seeing them live, the moshing at there concerts are far more brutal than their music would seem. Crowd moshed harder to them than Dethklok who played before them. Big babymetal fan but I can’t stand this song. By far their worst. Some recommendations of theirs would be Megitsune, Rondo of nightmare (live Budokan black night), BMC, Brand new day, Road of resistance, and Pa Pa Ya.
