This is not a bad job to do if you do it in good weather. ☺
It took me almost an hour with filming but I reckon it's possible to complete in about 40m.
Removing battery and battery tray makes it a lot easier to remove the bracket in front of the thermostat.
The way to bleed the coolant system is timing the engine up to temperature until fan kick in.
After that you have to turn car off and let it cool down.
With the engine warm top up coolant.
To check coolant temperature on the display you need to long press the settings button until it beeps and then you press the right button to cycle through the menus to find one with V: 0 T:? (V is speed in Km/h, T is coolant temperature in C°)

NOTE IT HAS BEEN REPORTED BACK TO ME THAT ON THE FIRST DAY AFTER BLEEDING THE SYSTEM YOU MIGHT HAVE LITTLE TO NO HEAT.
BUT FROM THEN ON CAR GETS BOILING HOT. 😅🥵

The factory fitted hose clips ,I replace them with Jubilee clips, the better ones bolt tighteners and you should be able to get most sizes at most auto shops. A tip for heat shield ,put a longer bolt in with a nut fully backed off to the bolt head ,then tighten the bolt to the required turns using the nut to lock down the heat shield. It will give you enough movement on the shield without having to remove completely.their 3 in total to replace

That's actually a good idea.. I didn't even think of it. Jubilee clips are way easier to work with. ☺ As for the heat shield just bending the corner gave me enough space to reach the intended screw. Then I just bent it back into its normal shape. 👍🏾

@@_LuisS glad it helped, a word of warning with Zafira's don't ever buy one with the EGR valve built into the cooler housing they are a nightmare to find if you need to replace,new they cost around £500.00 2nd hand they are rare and normally come from Latvia.they should have named this model "Za nightmare" lol. They don' even come come with a temperature. gauge.

My car is very cold garage tall me change thermostat another garage tall me change heater matrix another one tall me charge radiator,I’m confused please help me asap

On Vauxhalls it's very common that the heater matrix is caput. But could well be the thermostat. And unless it's leaking directly from radiator I wouldn't think it's radiator. Easy way to diagnose heater matrix is let the car run and warm up and check the pipes going into bulkhead. Those pipes go into heater matrix. If both pipes are hot mean that the matrix is working fine. I would then look into replacing thermostat if heater matrix pipes are hot..

Hello I hope you can help me I’m having a lot of issues with my thermostat housing I need help ? Basically before Christmas I was getting the engine light come on the dash I had the code reader and it told me it was the temperature sensor I got that done then a week later it came on again and told me engine temperature sensor malfunction so I cleaned the code and was ok about 4 days then I noticed the driveway under the car was wet I looked and took it to a local garage near me I Booked the car in for a new thermostat and housing all in one piece when the car was there thay gave me a call and told me they got sent the rong one from there supplier so it was put back on but was leaking a lot more I took the car to 4 different garages and they all got sent the rong part the part I need is what you replaced but the question is what about the egr valve where dose that go because the one you put on don’t look like the egr can fit aswell. Please help

Does the car still throw the engine light on? I don't see a thermostat throwing that code. However, if thermostat is faulty and not operating as it should you could have that same code because the coolant doesn't reach temperature and sensor throws de code on the dash. It helps knowing how you're thermostat looks like. That way you can pick up your own part knowing you got the right one. I always pick up my parts and confirm at the counter its the right one. I bought this part from euro car parts and they gave me right one first time. I have not seen an egr valve on this car. But I wasn't paying attention because the issue wasn't egr. And looking online there's people saying that zafira B don't have an egr valve. Don't know how true or false that statement is. Hope this helps a little and you get your issue sorted...

Maybe you can help me No engine light No code But after a good drive i switch off engine Fan will come on for about 2 to 3 mins and will tirn off Its happening all the time Hope you can help me 2007 zafira b 1.6

I would look first at relays. And also the wiring that goes to the engine temperature sensor which is the plug I disconnected from the thermostat. Ultimately I would replace thermostat. This particular car had the thermostat stuck open, yours must be stuck closed and fans kick in all the time too bring temperature down due to thermostat not opening when it should. Try pressing brake pedal and accelerator at the same time and turn IGNITION ON. Then write down codes on the dash and search what they mean. That might help you pinpoint the problem.

Not to sure about this. But before bleeding system was sitting steady at 87°. I never checked afterwards, after having hot air again...

my car temp stays between 100 to 110 at 112 the fan kicks is this normal? how to bleed the after changing the thermostat

@jameskiets-oe5up yeah. The fan kicks in at 112. The way vauxhall says you bleed the system is by getting the fans to kick in, which I did by revving the engine till that temperature. Then you let the car cool down completely and top up the coolant after it's cool.. Although the car had hot air the same day my sister inaw said only after 2 days the car was proper hot. So much so they had to turn the heat down. 🤣 😅

@jameskiets-oe5up I would assume it's in the high 80s mid 90s. But I'm just guessing because since then I haven't checked the car and my sister in law said car is all good.
