i have zaf 2007 the temp howers between 105 to 107 when idling is this normal??

Hi great video. I am having troubles with my Zafira B 1.8 2010. The coolant is boiling in the tank and overflowing from the small hole in the top. I have put the air con on turned the heater up and the fan does come on. I have used an ODB reader and as soon as the temp goes above 100c the coolant boils before the therostat has a chance to open at 105c. I have tried to bleed the air out by leaving the cap off and letting it cool down a few times but each time I have tried and topped up the coolant it just boils again. It is my understanding that there must be a leak in the pressure because the coolant is boiling at 100c. The boiling point is higher in a pressurised system. I don't really know anything about fixing cars I have just been trying these things from watching youtube vids. If you could offer any help that would be great thanks Matt.

Use the on screen secret menu to check temperature, simples,,

And, the cooling fan comes on at around 105 , and rapidly cools the engine,,

hi how can you check if the stat is working , as i heard the electric ones can fail making you think that the head gasket has gone ,

That electric connector that you said you should have taken off first doesn’t appear to come off as easy as you showed. I’ve had to come off the job because I can’t disconnect it. Any tips? Did you prep it for the video? Thx.

Done it. There’s a flap, with a thin blade screw driver gently prize it up away from the switch body - I heard a click and thought I’d snapped it but it’s just the internal clip releasing, more or less as shown in the video where it’s done with fingers! Point is, how the hell do you get it off when in situ! Good luck.

Tell me please if thermostat is opened and the temperature drops down, do You have worm or light worm air coming from centre vents? In my ZB when tje thermostat reaches about 98 celcius temperature drops down to around 80 C and worm air from centre vents becomes light worm but not hot worm. I wonder if this is a normar situation or may I have a fault but no obd erros oon opcom. I forgot to mention that temp. is set to 23 inside and my engine is 1.8 140 bhp benzin

to my knowledge, if you have warm air coming from any vents within the car, all would be fine, if you have continuous cold air with engine above say 70 c then perhaps thermostat has problem or you have a massive air lock

As I understand, these engines run hotter than most, at about 105ºC, so there is pressure. Fan low speed kicks in at 108ºC and high speed at 112ºC.
