Dosing with my grinder scatters a bit of coffee on the counter/benchtop so I gather that into a little Tupperware and use it to season the machine after cleaning. I can't bring myself to "waste" perfectly good coffee.

My VBM is always throwing water droplets out of the steam nozzle. It doesn't matter how hard the valve closes. What can it be? I already cleaned the valve and it was not corrected. Thank you very much for the help.

There is a small seal inside the steam tap body that will be worn out so that the steam tap is not closing completely. It wears out faster if the tap is closed too tightly too often.

Is it normal that the lever slides a bit horizontally under pressure? (2:55)

Another thing I do which i feel is very important, is once Ive chem cleaned the head, The chemicals also dissolves the FG grease on the cam of the pump switch. So I turn machine off, let the machine cool down for a minute or two, take out the cam attached to the lever, 2 small alum screws, pull out cam and put some food grade grease on cam, This slows down the wear on the lobes of the cam and make lever operation way smoother. Its easy to do and stops the wear and tear on the lobes chopping through the chrome to the brass beneath.

@@mralexcheek Hi Alex, It will make a huge difference to the brewing operation, but your cam may be screwed already. lt depends on how old the machine is and how much use it has had.
