I am a tech in a repair shop and all my ratchets, sockets, combination wrenches, power tools, are Milwaukee. The mechanics hand tools are excellent. I'd put them up against snap on any day. I bought the Milwaukee combination wrench set in Metric and SAE and I fell in love with them! So much so that I went ahead and also bought the ratcheting wrenches sets as well. I do like them a lot, the quality is there’s, but as far as convenience, the ratcheting wrench sets are straight at the box end. I’ve come to find that I’m not a fan of straight box end wrenches and I prefer the 15° angle that their regular combination wrench offers at the box end. If I could make an improvement or suggestions to Milwaukee it would be to come out with a 6 point, reversible, ratcheting, box end wrench with a 15° offset. I think this would be a unique offering and upgrade to their line. Also, change the color of the metric from black to blue. Black is sometimes hard to see since the chrome is sooo reflective.

Hey @Omardottcom, this may be what you are looking for. I had been looking around for a set of wrenches for myself, and after doing a ton of research, this is what I narrowed my search down to, which is MAC Tools SRWMO126PT. When I finally received them, they were everything that was advertised, and the holder they come in is a really smart design that opens up to allow access to all wrenches, but closes up into a compact and secure case This wrench set features: 6 point boxed end, reversible ratcheting, 15° offset, anti-slip open end, and bolt-stop on the boxed end that stops bolts from falling through. All the same plus a few more features as what I came across in reading your comment. I'm not affiliated with any of these tool companies, and don't earn a single dime from any of them, I'm just an average guy who loves tools and enjoy working on my own vehicle and so on.

Old school mechanic here, I ve tried just about all types of wrenches & ratcheting wrenches, 6pt and 12pt. As for Milwaukee from my experience there pretty decent, as for the Snap-on, well there over priced & overrated. If you want a similarity to the Snap-on wrenches, may I suggest the Icon Anti-slip combination wrench set. It does the same thing as the Snap-on but hell of a lot cheaper example Snap-on wrench set $550.00 for a wrench set, Icon $124.99 for a wrench set. The Mercedes mechanic mentioned take some plier to a bolt. Lol! I should suggest the Gearwrench open end ratcheting wrench set.

I'm in my late 20s and just started working in a shop 2 months ago. Before that I was working on my own cars at home for a while. I used to think snap on was overpriced and wouldn't get any of their tools.. while I do still think their tools are super expensive, I have to say, I used a snap on ratchet (extended 3/8) my boss has and what I love about it is the anvil requires almost no force to spin it so it's great for those tight spots to get a bolt started or remove it ALL the way because many ratchets are just a tad too stiff that it doesn't "ratchet" once something is too loose. So unless Mac, Cornwell, or someone else doesn't have a ratchet that fine, I may just be picking up a snap on ratchet... Just the one lol

@@meme5887 If your looking for a good decent 3/8 long drive ratchet, may I suggest Gearwrench 3/8 long drive ratchet, whether it be in comfort grip or non-comfort grip, I also suggest getting one that is a locking flex head & one with out locking flex head, just for a straight drive ratchet. The Snap-on straight 3/8 extended long drive ratchets will cost ya about $178.99 for one and the Gearwrench will cost $59.99 for the non-comfort grip, and the comfort grip $68.97. Equal your total for both Gearwrench 3/8 drive ratchet $128.96 +tax. Hell of alot cheaper than one $178.99 for one Snap-on 3/8 drive ratchet. But hay that's just my opinion and experience in mechanic tools.

@@mikey358976 I'm looking specifically for a really sensitive ratcheting mechanism. Like the one my boss has is so fine when you spin it, it almost feels broken which is super helpful for getting those last 3 turns on a bolt or nut where your everyday ratchet won't ratchet because there's not enough force to make it click. Like a hair trigger except a hair ratchet. I plan on going all Milwaukee for the ratchets, I just picked up the 3 extended ones which are really nice. But they're not super fine for when I need to start or fully remove a bolt/nut.

@@meme5887 Understandable on the 3/8 drive ratchet, you want it loose like broken feel like, as for me I went with the 120xp 3/8 by Gearwrench, I used a Snap-on 3/8 drive ratchet before standard size and long handel wasn't really impressed. But every mechanic different on the way they do things on certain tools they need. But in reality old saying" a true mechanic doesn't need fancy tools to get the job done. Now this is a review i needed. This justifies getting the milwaukee over the snap on for my uses. Now if a mechanic could give a honest review of the milwaukee sockets with the square flats thats what i need. Just spent a pretty penny on a snap on flank drive extra 1/4 socket set that coudlve bought me 2 milwaukee 1/4 & 3/8th socket/ ratchet set in the packout kit. i went with the snap on cause i was worried that i would get annoyed of the feel of trying to finger spin a square socket without a spinner attached, or the fact that a square peg in a round hole doesnt work out too well. Or the fact that i couldnt find any real world testing of how milwaukee sockets do in everyday situations when you dont always deal with brand new hardware. I really still want to get a milwaukee packout socket set for my mobile tool cart set up, would be a heck of alot easier to do that than try to piece together snap on sockets on rails in drawers in a packout ....until then thanks vince for the tool updates.

I'm not a die-hard snap on guy, almost all my tools are Milwaukee or husky. However there are a few areas where my snap-on tools just out perform anything else, that's just been my experience

The confusion could have been edited out, but it wasn't... So yeah I'm assuming... Assuming Milwaukee wrenches are good but Snap-on on is better... They better be given their price, and years in the business... Milwaukee on the other hand is branching out with genuine effort and attempting to make quality hand tools, worth a try I think. Not the only set of wrenches you'll buy, not the last either. What was the warranty for the Milwaukee? Snap on basically is forever, I've warranted tools 30 years old, so buy once cry once. PS: they lasted 30 years, so $25 wrench over 30 years, cost of ownership $0.83 per year... Now that same wrench is $53, for free, plus they drove to my location and handed it to me personally... That's worth something, no?

I woke up from a nap and this is the first video I see. I clicked and laughed. I use snap on wrenches only daily. Wouldn't use any other brand of wrenches. A customer of mines gave me the SAE and Metric Non ratcheting wrenches set when Milwaukee first came out with it to me for free, It sat in my tool drawer for about two years and I gave it away free. Just use it once and never like it, then a 10mm went missing as well. Didn't care much for them, off it to a younger Mechanic. Snap on tools for all things wrenches, ratcheting, box end, S curved, all wrenches!!

As an Autobody tech , Milwaukee ratchets are trash the body clam shell comes apart and pulls the threads out of the too short screws/ratchet . And secondly the heads wear out or strip constantly I have two 1/4 inch and one 3/8’s and all three have the same problems . I stuck them in the drawer and bought another snap on . I like the 3/8 socket drive compact impact but the ratchets are a waste of money

I literally gave my half inch cordless impact snap-on gun to pops yrs ago when i got the stubby 3/8" fuel m12 gun. I can bust off axle nuts off the majority of vehicles? Send it. Have had it for almost 4yrs including the m12 1/4" and 3/8" reg m12 wrenches, after 23yrs as a pro, i cant believe i paid snap-on so much for cordless tools. I love it so much my almost 22yr old apprentice electrian step-son....hes all team red baby. Alot of his coworkers have seen how slim and performing team red tools are compared to overpriced dewalts and now even his boss is team red! Go Milwaukee for sure

I use my Milwaukee wrenches every day I literally have thousands of dollars in hand tools (who doesn't right).. but the Milwaukee wrenches in an industrial environment is your best bet.. obviously if you're doing work where you're not wanting to potentially mar a fastener you might want to use some with smooth jaws on the open end..but my Milwaukee wrenches have been great

i removed the clip on my stubby but i like it on my mid torque its not in the way of anything i never scratch myself with it and when i unbolt something heavy and am too far to put in on a bench or what ever i use the clip to clip it on my back pocket. i use both those tools every day

I just don’t put my tools on the paint and the clip comes in really handy when you need to take 4 bolts out on a drive shaft say and need both hands to grab the drive shaft so rather than running back to the bench you can just clip in on your belt and keep working. At lest for me every second counts on flat rate

All comes down to service and availability. If you dog your tools a lot, and break a wrench or two is it better for a snap on,mac,Cornwell, or Matco truck depending on brand to come by and warranty it out instead of having the waiting period to do a claim and wait for it to be approved and shipped. There is some tool trucks that carry those wrenches like my Cornwell dealer does but it comes down to service and availability.

Well, back in the day, Snap-on was about the only wrench you could buy they would last and stand up to the abuse in the trade. My son has Milwaukee wrenches and ratchets, and they work great and I have used them every bit as good as the Snap-on tool. If I was getting in the trade now, I probably look around and buy somebody else’s tools. Just keep in mind, the tools don’t make the mechanic the skill makes the mechanic or technician. I just noticed in your video you are using the open end wrench backwards to loosen a bolt. Yep back in the day we just take a cheap wrench and grind off the sides if we had to to make it fit.

Snap-on makes some awesome hand tools....however, their hand tools and power tools don't command the price. How much of that price is the warranty? How many tools do you pay for when receiving one tool? Meaning.....you pretty much buy the tool twice.

After doing last min shopping as a student I recieved 50% off snap-on on and now at 8.4k in debt. I'm considering in refunding whole order aside from the 3 digital torque wrenches and look into boxo USA or full on Milwaukee. What I got to spend that amount? (2) digital torque wrenches 3/8 and 1/4, electric impact with 2 batteries and charger set, power ratchet and a tool set that also includes a tool chest... I'm actually regretting because I feel like I can get more for my money elsewhere and still be reliable and convenient for my diesel job.

Now if they would start designing packout for mechanics in mind. The full 15 wrench set barely even fits in a single packout drawer. I'm not putting a single wrench set in their own individual drawers. I'm not gonna use foam and double them up. I want to open the drawer, see all my wrenches and grab the one I need.

I’ll agree that Milwaukee is the best in cordless but I call BS @ 3:40. I’m a diesel mechanic and have a lot of snap on wrenches and snap on doesn’t make a flex head ratcheting wrench with an open end. They make a double box in a flex head. I know there’s blue point but that’s not snap on. And if they flop around snap on will warranty it because I’ve done it.

My nephew does audio installation and spent at least $25,000 on snap-on tools and a tool box at 18 years old. Sure... The tools are great and will last him a lifetime. The pricing is just ludacris. I don't make money off my tools but I sure don't see a $20,000 difference in quality between my HF box and less expensive tools. Home Depot frequently has the 15-piece Milwaukee ratcheting wrenches for $79 in their daily deals. I think I'm going to finally pull the trigger on an SAE and metric set to supplement my 1980s Craftsman wrenches I bought with my first real paycheck as a kid. They'll have an easy life. I do computer work from home... And yes, I buy my computers on sale too

So, this kid just starts out by saying that, since he has never heard of or seen a Milwaukee hand tool/wrench in person, that they must be junk. Talk about prejudging for an absolute ridiculous reason. Why no pick one up and use it before making a silly statement like that? Then he actually used them, and now he sees the quality and value in them being great tools at a decent price.
