Hello World, In this video, I've shown you how to create Scribbled, Sketched Vector Line Art Portrait Illustration from your Photo in Adobe Illustrator. And you don't need to use Pen Tool, Pencil Tool, not even a Drawing Tablet. Everything can be achieved by a Photo with Good balanced Lighting.
I've explained the effect parameters before starting the face so I fast forwarded some parts which can be achieved using same method.

Do you not know how sketching works? There's no way in hell someone cal "scribble" this, without the sketch lines showing. You just need to train your eye for it

@@meflea3675 , I agree! This is not sketching. This guy is way in left field if he believes he’s an artist doing it with this tool. The tool has always been for advanced marketing. That’s why they call the person using it a technical software graphic product producer. There are Artist that has learned this tool and it’s quite flexible to enhance what they know. But, the photoshop or vector in and of itself doesn’t make one a drawing /line Artist just a producer. Nice skill to have but the thought pattern or mental psyche of a real Artist isn’t there unless an Artist has the ability already and this tool can enhance their work like any photographer’s. That’s all a photographer is doing enhancing their reality of the subject. But, being created is just that; however being a true Artist goes way beyond these tools.

Shu Shu, You are definitely correct. This advanced technology has been overrated. It’s highly recommended to learn for marketing. It’s not necessary to learn as a true Artist but using its can cut some corners if one doesn’t rely on it for everything because they could lose what they naturally have. It’s takes practice, eye and mind control, and this tool could block that progress and make one too depended on it for art. Most artist like to feel like a real Artist not a mechanical product producer.

If it differs from background color then once you image trace, you can change color of that shirt to bit darker one. to create contrast. reason why we use Image Tracing is to avoid manually path drawings. if image is not cooperating then playing with Levels & Curves in PS. don't worry if colors gets wierd. it's fine as long as highlights, mid tones & shadows are identifiable. sometimes tweaking tracing parameter helps and *if* nothing works then you will have to create those few shapes manually.

I knew how scribble works before taking the project. and I also knew that it's going to need to be broken into pieces and how that's gonna happen. so turning those thoughts into vector took around an hour. it all depends on how you going to do it. once you figure out the process mentally, it won't take much time in software.

If you are talking about 3 colors in rectangles. Then choose rectangle tool and make rectangle 3 times. Then select 1st rec and change its color to black (value is given in box). Then select 2nd rect and change color (value is given in box) . You can change color directly by selecting each part of photo but this is little easy for wide project where you use lot of colors. Hope this helps.. :))

Go to File Menu > Save > give a name to the file & choose .ai file format(extension). .ai is Adobe Illustrator File format. Which can be edited anytime.

If CS6 has that effect then yes, you can. I'm using CC from the beginning so I don't know the effect availability in CS6.
