I once, foolishly, had about 18-20 colonists and like 30 animals (they just wouldn't stop breeding, I started with 6 and the newborns outnumbered the dying) and I was FORCED to play at 1x because 2x went down to 1-2 FPS and 3x and 4x had bugged and went back to 1x. When you're facing raids of 200 enemies at that speed, you quickly devolve into madness and bullshittery, which resulted in me using an anti-grain warhead to erase the FPS-killing raid, which also erased a quarter of my base. Namely, the quarter with my storage in it.

A tip, dont use centidepe bunners, maybe burners because gunners have the worse primary that just gets mostly taken by good armour, id suggest waiting until ultra mechtech and getting centipede blasters

Ahem, best armor in the BASE game. NOTHING competes with a Warcasket, they're basically Warhammer 40k dreadnoughts, just living, nigh-immortal flesh entombed in a box of metal so tough that you can't even call it a tank. Deploying multiple warcaskets is the RimWorld equivalent of slapping down Metal Gear Sahelanthropus on a whim.
