The wheel you went on is called the High Roller! We paid for the bar on the wheel, and I ended up having 5 Skyy vodkas, with bitters, and lemonade in the 30 mins, haha!

Sometimes we fly from Long Beach to Vegas and it's like 47 mins in the air, while on the ground it's a 4 hour drive. Annoyingly you save maybe an hour with all the airport BS, being on the runway, getting off the plane, getting a cab to your hotel.. it's almost worth just driving. Also, the residencies harken back to the good old days of LV with residencies of The Rat Pack, Elvis, Wayne Newton.. of course now everything is a cash grab, but a residency is like an honor. Great recap Jake! You two make a great podcast duo 🤍🤍

at 19:32 usually (in my experience) you only need to get your luggage and re-check it for a connecting flight IF you cross a customs border.

Great pod this week! Just a couple of tips for other visitors - OYO just takes over shady hotels and slaps a thin coat of paint on everything. Seriously avoid the brand if possible. Its always going to be sus. In Vegas taking the monorail can really save your legs. I can't imagine walking from OYO to Fremont! Just a fun idea - would love to see the boys do the mini car redrock canyon loop someday, its just beautiful and so much fun!

Exactly! I walked from Mirage to Stratosphere and nearly died 😅. You're dying out in the desert, but in a city. And I heard between the strip and Freemont at night is sketchy on foot.

I get where you're coming from on Vegas being the end of the line for artists, and I think it used to be that way(and may still be for some of them haha!). Now, I think artist see the benefits of a residency. They traveled the world they're done, they can stay in one place have their family there and not have to worry about travel. I think its for established artists who built a fan base and those fans will now travel to see them or catch a show while in Vegas for fun.

Long time listener first time caller. Tipping culture in the states varies state to state i.e. in Illinois a server makes $7.80 wherein Cali is $15.50. If a liquid death is $1 in both and you tip the same in both the person in California is making less. General custom in the bar industry is I can't stress this enough 1 out of 3 visits. Save you money lads you have to keep making these video's.

It was a Hooters Hotel. The place is a dump, but it works in a pinch and is better than Motel 6 type places.

Have you listened to Uno, Dos, Tre, Revolution Radio or Father of all MF's...how many songs off those albums are in the setlist...ZERO! Cause even Green Day know they are shit albums. Nimrod, Insomniac, Warning, Kerplunk are all amazing and made Green Day popular.

Virgin fly direct to vegas from Manchester. it would have probably been cheaper to book a last minute package deal with them incl hotel with all the faff you had.

Here in San Antonio Texas the got the newest scanning machines (last 6 months or so) and we are allowed to keep everything in our carry on bags.. in LAX we had to take out all electronics out of our carry ons and its probably because of the older machines.. probably why they have different demands for the same country..
