@@WarriorKid_77Whis did tell him he has a chip on his shoulder. Goku may be overconfident and careless, but Vegeta is too uptight. It's like a bodybuilder who trains every week giving his body little time to heal and recover, damaging his muscles because of the lack of rest. Compared to somebody who trains hard, but doesn't overwork himself yet still has as much if not more gains than the other guy.

Frieza killed EVERYONE on Earth in Resurrection F. ☠️ 2. None of those guys were the main villain... (Goku Black and Zamasu were a TEAM & he wasn't ended or completely defeated by Vegeta... Merged Zamasu wrecked them both...)

It makes sense given the way they fight too. Goku is a martial artist, Vegeta is a soldier. The former is focused on technique, while the later is focused on raw power.

Well, we have to consider one very important & essential difference between both parties that people tend to overlook. A master. While Goku has had plenty of masters, Vegeta has only had one, Whis (two if you low key count Beerus), but really only one. Up until Whis he’s never had someone “show him the way”. & that is an incredibly important aspect of training

In super vegeta earned it. Rather than solely focusing on physical training like early. He now trains both spiritual and mental training. Vegeta doing the same thing whis told him. With beerus help it's not impossible anymore.

Saying vegeta deserves a win is completely understandable, but saying he deserves to be stronger than goku is wild. Goku trains almost as hard as vegeta, and the only reason i say almost is because goku actually allows his body to rest, which is something to keep in mind when working out. There's also the fact that unlike vegeta goku actually had trainers throughout most of the series while vegeta had no mentors until whis.

I really don't understand this he deserves a win nonsense. He's beaten many, many characters. Vegeta acts like most shonen side characters. He defeats the second strongest character. Almost all the time he gets plenty of wins. It's just fan boys, don't think any of it. Matters unless he beats a main villain because they want him to be the main character. He realised that, and therefore he's not competing against Goku anymore, they're both competing against themselves to be better than they were yesterday. so not rivals anymore.

To be fair, most of the “dumb Goku” moments are just meant to be jokes and not taken seriously. Pretty much there for adding comedy into the show since dumb main characters are popular in cartoons. I think the meditation one wasn’t meant to be him dismissing the idea of it as training, but more of a joke that it’s not Vegeta’s style and the writing made it less apparent in the movie.

I don't remember tbh. but vegeta mentions fighting and training his entire life so as to be able to one day take out frieza. I think in the end his issue was underestimating frieza and either not knowing about his transformations or simply underestimating their power. Hence why he went for the dragon balls on earth and subsequently namek. Obviously immortality wasn't fleshed out by toriyama was they were meant to be a McMuffin but if they were he wouldn't have beaten frieza first time maybe second, third or fourth time. But I do think he never wouldve became the legendary super saiyan as you needed emotional anguish and rage beyond normal to reach it. And knowing he would just get a zenkai boost after every defeat and come back to life he would never unlock it imo. @@ThatOneGuy-oh8qx

@@jrjoseph9213 Goku and Vegeta likely started thinking about pushing beyond super saiyan around the same time due to it being apparent there was a need to with Cell and the Androids, Goku had been a super saiyan longer than Vegeta but Goku when he actually decided he was gonna improve super saiyan he definitely did a better Job than Vegeta.

@@happythoughts8291tbh that's a problem I have with Super, Goku being THE guy isn't a bad thing like how majority fans think it is, every arc after the 23rd had the side characters have some hand in beating the current threat. If there are 2 Goku's around then it makes it a lot harder to make the side characters actually do something then basically becoming energy batteries if either Goku or Vegeta need ki, it would get repetitive. Plus having Vegeta be the #1 rival is something that I see as a good and bad thing, Dragon Ball is the story of Goku and his adventures. During the sagas once a rival character is introduced they get sideline for the next, it isn't a bad thing since like in real life people who seem to challenge you, once surpassed another person comes to rival you in some way shape or form. Vegeta being the staple rival leaves us without someone new for Goku to test himself against. One thing I do think is that Super made Goku and Vegeta rivalry official while back in the OG manga and Anime it was more Vegeta seeing Goku as a figure to overcome until he understands that Goku is number 1, also one thing I think the anime does well is giving Goku a new rival character with Pikkon. Who while pretty basic, is pretty much all of Goku's rivals wrapped up into one. Green like Piccolo, stoic like piccolo and tien, able to banter like he could with Krillin, and has an interest in battle similar to Vegeta. However though, even though I said it was a bad thing, it's also a good thing Vegeta is Gokus main rival since like in life a tough rivalry can lead to someone who you can have friendly competition with, Vegeta basically became the new Krillin in terms of relationship with Goku with the exception of them both being Saiyans so Vegeta just gives insight about Saiyan lore instead of Krillin explaining things or reacting to Gokus u knowingness of earth

Golu being trained on how to train definitely helps. Vegeta is that one gym bro with amazing genes that is naturally strong and has never had to train. Once he started training he only knew how to keep overloading himself without letting his body rest. But thats not how you train optimally. Sure you will get tougher but at one point training a sore body does the opposite because you get injured and then take a break that stops your development. With Vegeta my guess is that he trains extremely hard, gets injured, has to rest for a while and then goes back in not very fresh until he does the same thing and injures himself again. Vegeta is the type of guy to think he’s stronger because he can take more pain in grueling training.

It's another example of vegeta's pride ruining everything for him. He learned to train by reaching a wall and breaking through it. He fought saibamen, alien warriors, frieza soilders and anytime one challenged him he got up, dusted himself off and tried again changing nothing but his ferocity (and bullshit zenkai). He has too much pride to admit his first method failed when he loses and instead just works out till he can punch harder. He's too prideful to ask anyone for help, even demanding bulma make him a gravity chamber so he can do what kakarot did instead of i dunno asking the smartest woman on the planet would would be a better use of his time or finding a teacher or even putting two and two together and understanding that having current limits doesn't prevent growth, it fosters it. Not until his pride is all but gone after Z that he is finally goku's equal learning from whis, applying new approaches to growing through SSBE in the TOP, accepting fusion in Broly, leaving the fight with moro entirely to train with the yardratians and i bet much much more as the series progresses. It's crazy to think what vegeta would have done ages ago if he just turned that pride down a smidge.

One correction, Vegeta trains before he meets goku, it's implied heavily that he trained a lot growing up. Elite saiyans likely all trained, more for skill than for power.

The interesting thing is that Vegeta learned this lesson too. He never used SSJ3 because of the energy drain and instead mastered SSJ2 and eventually surpassed Goku with it in BoG.

One thing about that last point is that vegeta learned his lesson. After the buu saga, vegeta realized that ssj3 is very powerful, but the ki drain is too much of a downside. So he decided to master ssj2, bringing him on par with ssj3 goku

Vegeta didn’t use the gravity chamber until Goku used it because it didnt exist for him yet. It wasn’t made until Goku flew to Namek. Vegeta started using it as soon as he started hanging out with the crew and was granted access to it
